Just to keep with a few threads, I'll use this forum to congratulate Die Hard on its inclusion into the National Registry of Movies -- the Hall of Fame of movies, if you will.
Other highlights: Titanic; Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (really? this long for that?); Dumbo; The Goonies; Memento; Spartacus: Superman; and others.
Buster Posey and Joe Mauer are both way better than The Goonies.

Thanks v3. I keep up with the National Film Registry. A personal goal is to view every film on the registry. Of the 725 films currently on the registry, I've seen all but 68.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Now it's all but 58, thanks to TCM's mini marathon of some of the newly listed films. And I found out the LOC has a YouTube channel with some of the films uploaded.

Congratulations! Someday I should look through the whole film registry and try to figure out how many of the movies I've seen.
But I know the real reason you posted this was to get me blamed for this conversation about movies, like I was blamed for the conversation about rock stars in the other thread.

32. Give or take 3 movies. That's not what I have left, but thats how many on that list I've seen. I might have seen 10 or so more but can't remember them though. I am more of a music guy and the movies I watch usually tend to be nowhere near that list. Though I must say two of the most recent movies I've rewatched (because of the holidays) were Die Hard and Miracle on 34th Street, so I have that going for me.
