Why is the Kendall Graveman card in this set not considered a RC or have the logo designation?

I'm not sure if this is the reason, but he had a card in Series One which does have the RC designation.

I've been getting confused on this myself lately...take Kris Bryant for instance.  He had a card with the RC designation in 2015 Topps Series 2...and his cards in the Update also have the RC designation (all of them). So which is his TRUE RC?

Yeah it's strange. I have a Jimmie Olvestad card from the 01-02 UD NHL series that literally says "no NHL experience" on the back, yet it doesn't have a RC designation. I mean how much more rookie can you get?

 The first card of a player in a major set is the RC card. If he has a RC in series 1 the card in series 2 is a second card. In Chollenbeck's case where a card is in series 2 the Topps Update RC is in error . Jimmie Olvestad RC is on 98-99 Upper Deck Black Diamond (back the days where the majors could include players that not had any NHL experience)

RC designation is a little clearer, but not perfect in hockey

In baseball, much more confusing with all the bowman releases while a prospect in the minors, and then RC designations when he reaches the majors in some brands but not others..

that really does not affect me, though...as I collect teams and build sets..

Baseball also gets confusing prior to 1990. All traded or update sets were considered XRC if there was not a card of the player in the basic set. 1990 and after it changes to the first card of a player (exception of the Bowman as stated by mzentko).
