Rick Porcello (AL) and Max Scherzer (NL) are this year's Cy Young award winners.

The A.L. race was close with Porcello (137 pts) narrowly beating out Justin Verlander (132 pts).  Corey Kluber (98 pts) was a little further behind in the race.

The N.L. race was a runaway for Scherzer (192 pts).  Jon Lester (102 pts) and Kyle Hendricks (85 pts) were next in line for the N.L.

What are your thoughts?  

I would say that's a tough break for the Tigers, all around. Plus Kate Upton being salty on Twitter for Verlander losing is quite hilarious.

And now Max is on the trivia list of pitchers winning the Cy Young in both leagues.

Hard to argue with Scherzer winning, although a full season from Kershaw likely would have changed that. Lester and Hendricks both had very deserving seasons as well.

I'm thrilled for Porcello. Being a Sox fan I was cautiously optimistic for him. He certainly had a great year. I think it really comes down to his consistency during the year. Others had similar or better overall numbers but Porcello was so consistent in his starts.  I think had the Tigers had a better year it likely would have gone to Verlander. Same issue Trout will likely face. I'm actually a little surprised Kluber didn't get more votes. I figured the AL race would be pretty close.

Diamondbacks fan here.  I get bitter anytime I see Max Scherzer doing well lol.  Sold our pitching souls to have a Johnson/Schilling combo.  Now all our aces get hurt or pitch awful, and pitchers we let go turn out great elsewhere.  

In 2011 after Ian Kennedy was being compared to Greg Maddux, I felt like we won that trade.  Now in 2016, what a fool I was.  

Huge Cubs fan here. Not much to say but that I totally agree with the results. Maybe Arrieta should have gotten a few more fifth place votes. No one should have left Lester off the ballot. But right order in the end. Scherzer deserves it. 

Porcello was correct, too. But Verlander is a defensible choice 

What's not defensible is the guy who voted a month before the season ended, thereby ignoring Verlander, Lester, and Hendircks's finishes. Be more responsible with your votes, dude.
