I haven't kept up too much with the Bowman release, but I often see posts on twitter of shelves being cleared off. I know its because of Ohtani, but is it all boxes of Bowman, or just certain ones? I hear about the Mega boxes being most(all?) of them but wasn't sure if the blasters or hangers are also being cleared too.
I'm only asking because my local Walmart had a lot of blasters, and I bought a box. At best I hoped to get a Hunter Greene card, but didn't. However I did pull a base card of Ohtani, so that made me happy. Also got a couple Royals, and an Acuna card, so I'm not complaining. I like the design, I might get another box if I go back, but usually I'm not a big Bowman fan.

I haven't seen a trace of Bowman at either Target or Wal-Mart. Not even a single pack.
I feel like the card sections of the stores I go to have been pillaged in general recently. I had been looking for packs of 17-18 Donruss Optic Basketball and found two lone packs mixed in with 2018 Topps Opening Day. I wonder if someone was stashing them for later.

Nothing found locally. They'll re-stock, and then be sold out within a few hours. All varieties, blasters, hangars, packs, etc.

I haven't checked but I have heard it has been flying off the shelves everywhere.
Based on the chatter I have seen and heard just about everybody has pulled an Ohtani base card. To me it seems that the base card of Ohtani has been overseeded by Topps in this Bowman product. It hasn't been out that long and I am already tired of hearing about it. If I were set building this year's Bowman of course I'd want Ohtani's base card to complete the set. Now I'm not so sure if I even want it for the posterity of it.

yes.. between him and Hunter Pence.. any auto espeically the superfractor have been selling like crazy.. talking about bids getting up over $1000.. everyone has been trying to get that 1/1. So the hobby and mega's been selling out on hopes of getting them. I think the price on the jumbo hobby even increased about $40 over the past 2 weeks.
samething happened last year with Aaron Judge.. past couple years the really hot rookies along with the colored parralels have sold like crazy! i think it was last year i posted an Orange Victor Robles and played around and posted it for i think $850 and it sold in 5 minutes. Only to find out that all the red and orange autos were selling up to over $2000.
It's the same way with these two current rookies- people go crazy buying cases and boxes in hopes of just one card-- and in the end, they probably pay just as much or more than bidding on it and buying it for a thousand or 2.

I have kept away from the Bowman mega boxes, partially because we only have one Target nearby and it is in another town about 12-15 miles away so I don't normally shop there and second I don't want to get swept up in the hype. Last year I got the itch to find anything Aaron Judge and I did end up with a Chrome base and reverse negative parallel, but I am standing back this year.

Cool, thanks for the replies. I still might get another box, but I'm not expecting to get anything super good.

My local WM cleared out the card section a couple weeks ago. They are replacing all the registers, with mostly self check-outs (less employees to have to pay, but that's for another thread), and I know for a fact there's a lot of shop-lifting happening. I figure they'll be back, but not been able to check anywhere else since it released, because I was wanting to buy a few packs myself.
