Here's the link to the listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1950-Bowman-Jackie-Robinson-22-Creases-Paper-Loss-Poor-Cond-/231779167537?hash=item35f71d6d31:g:FgoAAOSwNphWaLiy
These type of counterfeiters make me sick. This one is trying to blame Ebay's rules for having to list it without any claim to its authenticity. It's a reprint. Admit it. The backs of '50 Bowmans were red--not black. The seller knows this, and it trying to pass the reprint off as a low grade original. Even the card wear looks fake--rip a couple of corners off, crease it a couple of times. The card does not look old and neither does the damage.
What do you think?

This is a "sad" practice. There are even multiple bids for the item. I wish there was some way to let the bidders know. Some poor sap is going to spend money on a worthless reprint, and probably never know it. Unfortunately the world is full of unscrupulous people. This seller has several poor grade "vintage "cards for sale, many with multiple bids. Let the buyer beware!

Their disclaimer is in direct violation of ebay policy: Authenticity Disclaimer Policy I for one am fed up with all these counterfeit sellers claiming ignorance and thinking this protects them. I finally figured out how to report these "disclaimer" listings. I hope more of us will work to protect the hobby. I checked his other listings. You have to see them to believe it. ALL obvious counterfeits made to look in less-than-mint condition. Every one is made from the same (incorrect) cardboard, all with "perfectly" rounded corners, all with same obvious fake wear.
I was very tempted to report them as counterfeit, but the "disclaimer violation" is a guaranteed violation.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I also saw the other cards he had listed. They do all look like the same amount of wear. I swear I could even see some gloss on one of the Mantle cards.

He made a major mistake. Wrong back on the T206 Walter Johnson (with hands/glove at chest). The "hands at chest" variation was added to the second "350 Series Piedmont" and third "350-460 Series Piedmont" printings. Check his listing out T206 Walter Johnson

Victory!! Two of their fakes sold before ebay acted. But the rest of their fakes have been removed.

I came into this thread late, but I just want to say, "Nice work!" I hate that people try to pawn this....stuff....off as originals. As a vintage collector, it makes me very wary. I've even had to buy a couple of graded cards to ease my mind a bit on the authenticity issue. Sigh.
Keep up the good fight.

Nice going! Sad to see this happen, but in this day and age nothing surprises me as to what levels people will stoop, to take advantage of others.

I hope eBay suspends their account. I hope the winner of the two ended auctions pays with counterfeit money. Somebody is going to get a really lousy Christmas present from an unsuspecting family member, most likely.
Great work, C2. I despise crooks.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
