2000-01 Topps Tipoff Basketball Forum

I am curious if anyone knows more about this set. The Preview image, and several of the listings for cards for sale on the Database's Amazon partnership show the cards with yellow logo and name. Yet the only cards I've ever seen- including my complete set- all have silver foil set logos and player names.

Where are the images of the yellow lettered set coming from? If it was just the set sample image I would- and long have- assumed that the Database had set a sample image from a promo I don't have; it was not uncommon for Topps to change foil properties between promo and basic release. But I've since noticed it on multiple Amazon listings, which makes me wonder if there is a whole parallel set out there.

I also have had a hard time finding a checklist for the Daily Double insert, which is not yet listed here.

I have more than 3 complete sets worth, and all of mine are the silver foil ones.  Until you had mentioned it, I had never heard of or seen any other versions.  So my guess is that the Yellow ones are promos/previews, but not sure.

I don't believe there is a parallel set.  It looks to me that it is the quality of the scan.  A quick search of eBay reveals that the gold-ish hue is from what appears to be a bad scan resolution.  Maybe someone is copying/pasting from available scans from other sites making it seem like a variant.  You might try scanning one of your own and seeing if you can duplicate the outcome.

If there are multiple and parallet universes, can you imagine how many parallel sets there would be?   Staggers the imagination.

NJDevils, in your parallel universe, the sets are "Topps Ultra" and "Fleer Stadium Club".  Just to stir up trouble on the parallel forums.  And the parallel me says the manufacturer should always be included in the set title.  And he isn't a hot head.

Oh Oh David is in one of his moods again or since its the parallel one should I say Divad. =)

I see the cover image has now been changed to reflect the card in hand. (My scan, it appears). I'm still curious about it though...
