I'm pulling alot of these out of Dollar store packs (15 cards for $1) Doesn't seem like a great set, but the packs seem to have a good mix.

I have bought hundreds of Dollarama packs ( we have 6 stores here in Victoria, BC ). A good card on the front and back of the package, and then some surpisingly good cards inside ... Upper Deck Ice, Trilogy, Artifacts, etc. You usually get 4 good cards and 11 junk, or so.

Seems like 9 times out of 10 I'm pulling the 1990-91 Bowman Theo Fleury card. I have a stack of them. Like the 07-08 SPX series though. Nice looking cards

I'm not a hockey collector, but I like everything UD did with SPx and Black Diamond. SPx lasted many seasons (over a decade in some sports) but has been a highly overlooked brand in the hobby IMO. Black Diamond died off way too soon! I loved every set in any sport from Black Diamond and the parallels might have been the start of the current flood of parallels in the market, but they did it different than the current flood of parallels! I'd say that Finest actually started the parallel frenzy back in the mid-90's. But BD did it much better and made them more obvious.

Black Diamond is still being produced, but UD really killed it. No longer etched, it's now a so-called super premium product. The cards now have actual diamonds and I believe they are all black and white. I loved the etched sets, they were always good. I truly wish they were still making them that way. I refuse to spend $500 for a single pack of 5 or less cards.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. 1990-91 Bowman gets my vote for the ugliest/blandest hockey card set ever.

But yeah those Bowman were pretty bad

Been buying those Dollar Store Hockey packs myself and yes they do have a fair bit of Bowman cards in them. Have also been getting the odd 91/92 OHL cards as well. It's a bit of a crap shoot as to what years and brands are in each.
