Greetings:

Wondering if there was a variation for tis set???

I have a Gibson card that looks identicle to the card listed in the the database with the exception of the red line that out;ines the player on the front of the card. Instead of the line being red, the card I have is black.

I have the full set of 12 cards with a red line (including Gibson). However, I only have a Gibson card (actually 2) with the black line.

Any ideas??

I can't answer this b/c I don't think I have a single TCMA card from 1983. But I had to post to say that I love the Jack Buck quote!!!

There are quite a few TCMA sets that have variations to them, all in the border that isused.Unfortunately, not all variations are listed in here yet as they are really only discovered when a collector sees that his cards are different than those already uploaded. I have a set to still do that I recently disccovered.

Seems as though TCMA went back and redid plenty of their sets, and used different colors when they did. Either DaClyde or Dave Sosidka is really on top of the TCMA issues and if they could weigh in, would be useful.

I noticed the "White back" Gibson variation listed. It is the only variation with a white back and appears to have black or brown letters. In reviewing my collection, I have a complete "white" back with the letters being blue on the back. I also have the "gray" back set that is listed. My scanner is on the outs, so I cannot scan the cards.

Additionally, I have a variation of card #12 from this set (Schoendienst). It has a white back like the ones I listed above. The difference is the letters on the front "All-Time Cardinals" is brown instead of red.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the "Black Border" #4 Marty Marion and the #4 Marty Marion listed under the "Mixed Backs" list? I'm trying to determine where to put mine-it has a black border and a gray back.
