2007 Upper Deck Football Forum

Does anyone know anything about the "Alumni Greats" insert set? All I can find online is checklists and this eBay listing, which is my best guess as to what this set is. That being said, I haven't found any others (although I'm just starting looking) and no one on this site has them in their collection or FS/T list.

To compound the difficulty, the first two cards on the checklist are listed as "TBD" (not just on here, but on other checklists that I've seen as well). In addition, the Larry Johnson card appears to just be his regular 2007 Upper Deck First Edition card, although the number on the back could certainly be different, I'm not sure.

Anyone with any info?

Update: Since posting, also found Lee Evans and Shaun Alexander. So now the question is less about the set and more about the first two that are listed as TBD?

I can tell you that every team was listed wrong on here (NFL instead of NCAA). I've fixed that. I also can't find any info on cards 1 & 2. I did find a scan of #18 on Beckett. This is the Set Decription from Beckett.com: "These cards were packaged one at a time with a 1:64 die-cast car and offered at a retail price of $12.99. Each card follows the format of the base 2007 Upper Deck Football set but includes the player in his college uniform."

So the cards can ONLY be found packaged with the die-cast cars. That helps explain the lack of scans b/c the package would have to be opened to get the card out.

Thanks; I was so wrapped up in trying to figure out where in the world these cards came from that I didn't even notice the teams were wrong!

So based on that scan, the card numbering is correct, the checklist is (most likely) correct, but we still don't know what cards 1 and 2 are in this set. I guess that's my project for today. Thanks again for your help!

No problem. I'm always happy to help. I didn't even know about these cards (or the cars). Now I have a new card to find with the Julius Peppers card. As a Duke fan, I totally don't care about the UNC die-cast car. But as a Carolina Panthers fan, I do care about the Peppers card. LMK if you find out what #'s 1 & 2 are!

I'm glad I already knew some of the college teams for these players or it would have taken a whole lot longer to fix the team names.

I was looking on the Upper Deck Collector's Zone Checklist page and found a set listed as 2007 NFL 2007 CLC Die Cast (NFL Players). They list 17 cards with the prefix as DCCU. The UD checklist does not have Ryan Fowler listed. The checklist has the same players in it with the exception of two players, maybe cards 1 and 2. If so, they could be of Rex Grossman and Ben Watson.
