I feel the set name for this is not correct. It should simply be "Be A Player" or possibly "Be A Player - IOOSS Collection" Any input?

Only the first 18 cards are Iooss cards, so that would not be a good name. Beckett listed it as "1994 Upper Deck NHLPA/Be A Player" in Annual #8 (old, very old). There was also and 93-94 Upper Deck NHLPA/Roots set. They were done in conjuction with the NHLPA.

I remember BAP originating during a strike. From memory, nobody could release an NHL set with current players, but they could release a set of players without uniforms. Until an agreement happened between the two sides, you could only have one or the other on a card. But I don't think NHLPA is necessary, any more than NHL is on any standard set title. Just my view on it.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I agree. No need for NHLPA.
Which brings up another issue. I've noticed a few newly created set listings with NHL, MLB, NFL in set titles.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

But if it was the name of the set...

That's why I overlook " Topps WWE" on wrestling sets here, when Topps hasn't made cards of other wrestling companies in years. The WWE logo does appear prominently in the packaging. But I don't recall NHLPA being in this set name. But the set was one of the ugliest I ever saw, so I didn't buy many, thus I don't remember what the packaging said.

I just looked in my 2014 Beckett Hockey Annual (23rd Edition) and they are not even listed. The only 1994 NHLPA thing is the phone card set and the only 1994 Be a Player stuuf is the four card set that was in their magazine. Nothing else. I don't feel the NHLPA is needed either but until we have a better consensus I will leave it be. I don't want to stir thye pot anymore today. ;)
