Does anyone else collect insert sets from the 1960's?
When I finally came to grips with modern insert sets, and how to incorporate them into my collections, I went back and started adding insert sets from days past into my collection.
Today, I finally completed the 1969 Topps Deckle Edge insert set of 35 cards.
Initially, these sets would go to the back of my binders, but I noticed that they were not getting looked at as much, so I've integrated the majority of my insert sets into my base set collection. What makes this set unique is that it has corrugated edges, and is smaller than the standard size cards. Even so, I'd still prefer to look at each of these insert cards positioned next to their base card counterparts. It's become difficult for me to identify the 1969 Topps set without it's Deckle Edge insert counterpart since these cards would have been included in 5-cent wax packs to collectors. With the completion of this set, only one card remains to finish off my 1969 Topps baseball set--Mickey Mantle #500.
