The rule for card numbers states, "The card numbers listed on checklists should try to reflect the card numbers as they appear on the cards themselves, including any dashes, prefixes, or suffixes. Unnumbered cards should be entered in as "NNO".
So shouldn't these card numbers reflect what's on the back of the card? This is not the only set I've come across that uses Roman numerals.

as far as the no #'s, yes the NNO... but as for the others,, i would tend to lean with the regular numbering .. 1,2,3 etc and not Roman Numerals. Other sites for this set use standard numbering and i know we want best , unique and accurate as possible here, but for easier searching if someone found these somewhere it would have the standard system thus bringing them to search for that here. I don't think Admin has the search function for card #'s set up like Alias's for people names where if someone puts V it will also search for 5. just my 3 1/2 cents.

...and for the ignorant collector who has a card in-hand and doesn't understand or recognize Roman numerals? To them "CXXV" is the card number, not "125".
How are the Roman numerals any different than all the cards with nothing but letters for a card number?

To the checklist uploaders who have Roman numeral checklists, put the list in order by our number system and DO NOT SORT in Excel!
I agree, the database has matured since the set was probably first uploaded and can handle XXV and the like.

Good point, Dan. Sorting Roman numerals will put them in alphabetical order. Excel does have an Arabic-to-Roman conversion formula. So a checklist with Arabic numbers can be put in numerical order first and then converted to Roman numerals.

Last discussed in July 2017, but I just noticed the numbering on this set while working on a different project fixing Multi-Sport TIDs. Should we submit IRs to change the numbers to match what's on the card? There are inserts and parallels with the same issue.

Some are longer than 15 characters? The database can handle up to 15 characters in the number field.
