There's nothing black and white about our hobby. I think that you are asking a question that doesn't have a definitive correct answer. I know my answer doesn't help you any, but as long as card companies go out of their way to produce sets that are impossible to identify/classify/categorize, there's not much any of us can do about it, except to quit buying them until they knock it off. There is no status quo to speak of -- never has been. I say this with all due respect: none of us can answer this any better than you can, and you are the one doing the checklists, so I think you have the right to do it as you see fit, unless Admin tells you that you are doing it wrong.
Keep up the good work, but don't drive yourself crazy with it!

I feel a little more confused sadly, obviously card number is not the reference point needed to clarify a parallel otherwise Admin would have stated this you'd think. I would just like a solid clarification as to what makes a parallel set a parallel set. Its looking like its another one of those internet things, go a searching. I hope I am not coming across poorly, just like black and white in front of me to make it sink in better, if that makes any sense.
I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
