these cards show players in high school uniforms
back of card lists what MLB team drafted them
should I update with the MLB team, or leave alone?
when I tried to change the team, a list of minor league teams came up.
looking for some help from some of the veterans on here.
thanks, mark

Teams should be the high school.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Are the high schools listed on the card anywhere?

I think the Major League team should be listed because as a team set builder, I want to find that card when I search the database for a particular sett. And usually the Major League team logo or name is on the card.
Adding the high school in addition to the Major League name is good, too. More info is usually better. It's not always clear what the high school is, though. I remember from 89 Topps, i think, it's not always prominent. Maybe in the text/notes on the back. When listing stats, years say, "Freshman", "Sophomore"...

Level 2 Permissions are listed below, point one makes it look like it should be the high school but then point four muddies the waters. Does that include high schools? You would think so as I think Admin means something other than a "major" team. And it does not say front or back of card so I am not thinking that matters either.
Access to this level requires an understanding of the following concepts:
- The team named on the card is the one that should be associated with the card.
- If a player is wearing a jersey that differs than the team named on the card, the team associated with the card should be the team named on the card.
- If the front of the card indicates that the player has been traded to a new team, the team associated with the card should be the new team.
- Cards of players in their college uniform should only be associated with their professional team if the professional team is named on the card.
- For cards with multiple teams, the team names should be separated by forward slashes. Example: New York Mets / Los Angeles Dodgers / Houston Astros
- Team names should include both place and nickname. Example: Chicago Cubs, not just Cubs
- Team names should never be entered in all caps.
- All changes will be logged in the Change Log and reviewed on a daily basis.
- While mistakes happen and are expected, continual disregard for these concepts will result in loss of access.

The way I read the guidelines is that the team of the uniform in the picture has no bearing on which team the card should be associated with unless there is no team association named on the card. In every case, when a team name is written on the card it trumps the team uniform in the picture.
None of the pictures for the set are uploaded, so I can't see if both the high school and pro team are named on the card. That's the only fact that would make the guidelines unclear.

Being drafted by a team doesn't automatically make them a member of the team. This is especially true in baseball and hockey. A lot are drafted, but fewer actually make it to the MLB or NHL. Unlike NFL, where they are drafted and go directly to the team.
Isn't there a team affiliate link where you can link them to an MLB team?

Looks like the name of the High School is very prominent on the top of the reverse. No team is listed on the front. The MLB team that drafted him is in the write up. HS should probably be team name. If there is a way for Admin to allow MLB affiliate on HS cards, that would be the way to go.
This was a clever way for a company to issue "Draft Picks" without a MLB license.

What about players like LeBron James? In the 2011-12 SP By the Letter set, it's a jersey patch from St. Vincent-St. Mary and has that as the team listed. That's pretty obvious, yes, but can we create TID's for High Schools? I notice some of his other cards with SVSM as the team but it doesn't have a TID.
In the same vein, I'd love to have the option to add a High School to the player info.

Turning off trading because my collection is in complete disarray after moving and I don't know when I can get it organized.
