I am wondering how the racing collectors' feel about the checklist for the Burning Rubber Letterman listings. The checklist here has each driver listed once and each card listed as a MEM, SN8. We know that the cards are actually 8 cards with different letters on each card that spell out 'GOODYEAR' when completed. Each card is numbered 1/8, 2/8, 3/8, etc. I have altered the Carl Edwards listings just to see what others think. Should I continue this way and make all driver cards listed like this or should I remove the ones I added? These are all technically 1/1's and I think it is important for them to be listed separately. LMK what you think!

i noticed the samething on the football letterman checklist, i've changed a couple to read:
MEM, SN4, Var: A.. (with the Var being each individual letter of the person's name) in this case, 4 separate line entries with different Var's

No one answered my question, so I have continued on with adjusting the set to reflect the actual cards made/released. I haven't completed it yet, but if anyone has an opinion about the way I am listing the Burning Rubber Letterman set, PLZ LMK what you would do different. I must stop for tonight, but I will finish listing the final 4 drivers tomorrow in the same way I listed the first 5 drivers. It just seems to me that this is the most logical way to post these cards.

Yes, each letter of the name is seperate. some sets show the prints runs, for each letter too. Most are 1 of 1 per letter, but for some college names, they have addtional runs for each letter, sooooo to keep things constant (at least on the football side) i've been doing this, I' ll use Cobb (it's short)
Note 1: MEM, SN1 Note2: Var: C
Note1: MEM, SN1 Note2 Var: O
Note1 MEM, SN1 Note2 Var: B
Note1 MEM, SN1 Note2 Var: B
Now it was an auto or the CL showed a Print Run, i would add:
Note1 AU, MEM, SN1 Note2: Var: C, Printrun 500
etc, etc---- hope that helps

I agree that each letter should be separate. I suggested doing this with my set of Brian Ragira "USA" from 2009 Upper Deck Signature Stars - USA By the Letter Autographs. Shows as three variations and each card numbered has an added lowercase letter so that they show up in the correct order on the database.
I've been going through my basketball cards and was actually thinking about how I was going to put together the excel checklist for the 2011-12 SP Authentic By The Letter set. I'm working on Jamie Dixon's "PITTSBURGH" set with P&T being SN10 and the rest SN35. That is gonna be irritating. There are 46 people in that set with varying SN and letter combinations.

Turning off trading because my collection is in complete disarray after moving and I don't know when I can get it organized.

It's funny that I got 3 replies this time BUT no one looked at the checklist. This set is completely different from those football sets. I know those type of sets pretty well too. This is not a set that has different total serial numbers for different letters. There is only ONE card for each serial number. SN1/8 is a different card than SN8/8!
Billy, when it comes to NASCAR, I trust your opinion most! PLZ take a look and tell me what you think. I truely think this is the best way to list these. I am not quite done yet, but plan to finish tonight.

yes i understood.. and they are diiffrent because they are lettered and football does have sets like that as well. for Edwards the first one there, the SN on all the cards is still 8.. E, D , W.. SN8, the G since its a "longer explanation" (i had previously asked admin a while back when i was doing the samething) should be in the Note2 as VAR: G... i haven't seen the print run for that CL... but it is possible that there are several "G"'s out there and the overall run for that name could be a couple hundred or so. refer to the 2015 Upper Deck Rookie Letterman Autographs (football) or the 2008 Topps Letterman (football) the UD had a Printrun, the Topps did not. hope that helps..

You are still missing it. There are only 8 TOTAL CARDS for each driver. The cards spell out the word GOODYEAR. The 'G' is SERIAL # 1/8, not the card number. The serial number is specific for each letter. There is not a 'G' card with an SN of 2/8, 3/8, etc. All 8 cards for each driver have the same card # on the back. The only difference for each card is the Serial # and RU'd tire piece, both on the front of the card. Also, the letter needs to be in Note 1 to show which card it is. The Note 2 field shows the date and race the tire piece was used in a race the driver won.
I know what you are talking about though. I have 2 MLB Ozzie Smith cards from the 2009 UD Icons Lettermen set that spelled out his full name. Each one of those is SN40. I also have the complete nameplate for Jimmie Johnson from 2009 Press Pass Eclipse Solar Swatches that spells out his last name. Four of those cards are SN200 and the other three are SN99, SN65 and SN50. I also have a couple of the Spellbound Swatches cards from later years of the same brand that have different SN's based on the letter.
