As I upload pictures, I am finding that the checklist ahs every player that has a card marked "now with XX" has both his former and new team linked to it, contrary to the instructtions for uploading checklists. I can go in and correct allof them but I am afraid that those who collect particular teams will lose some of their links to these players. What is the common consensus, should I correct these cards by deleting the former team or just let them be the way they are?
I just checked and it is only on the parallel version "Gray Back" that this exists. The base set is properly listed.

IMO, it should match the base set, you should not list the former team on the card, it should be listed as the current team only. If I am wrong someone will correct me.

I have placed a team / team desigination on a few cards in O Pee Chee sets. I don't think it was in the 1981 set however. My "justification" for this were the card themselves had, for example a Blue Jays team designation and picture, but then there was a line on the card saying (something to the effect) "Now with Royals" or "Traded to Royals on xx-xx-xx". Since there were 2 different teams on the card, I thought both should be identified. As a collector of Royals cards, I want any card that identifies a player with the Royals.
When I look at this set, card #7- Butch Hobson for example, the team is identified as the Angels, along with the "tag line". Even though he is in a Red Sox uniform, I don't think the Red Sox should be tagged.
Does that make sense, or did I only complicate the issue?

Here's the database guidelines: http://www.tradingcarddb.com/Permissions.cfm?MODE=Level2&ACTION=Review
The team named on the card is the team associated with the card regardless of the jersey the player is wearing.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Here is an example of what the first few posters were talking about: http://www.tradingcarddb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/8705/cid/482189/1989-O-Pee-Chee-114-Lance-Parrish?PageIndex=1
Clearly, the card states Phillies (as does the Topps counterpart), however, there is an additional bit of info on the front denoting that he is "Now with Angels (10-3-88)". I think this is the case that is in question. (And apparently, these were listed as the updated teams previously, as I do not have this card in my collection.)

This is directly from the guidelines:
If the front of the card indicates that the player has been traded to a new team, the team associated with the card should be the new team.

So then the 1989 OPCs are all wrong.

There are cards like that in hockey as well, and yes I have always followed the guidelines set out by administration as well. That is why I have stated in the past that "guidelines" should not be used and replaced with a word like "rules" or something to that effect. We will always find something to disagree on and it is admins job to answer them difinitive. I looked at the baseball card and know nothing of the sport and I do not have the time to even try to find one of the NHL cards but bottom line is admin spends way more time here than we do and they rule the roost so I always find it best to follow the guidelines. =) There are certainly other items I could bring up that people forget are in the guidelines but hey I just change them as I go.

I just realized that came off a little dumb, not trying to sound like a jerk. Long weekend and plumb full of turkey lol. My apologies if I offended anybody as that was not my intent.
