2008 Donruss Elite Extra Edition Baseball Forum

While working on the name validation system, I came across a set with just one name to "clean" up, O.J. Mayo. It is the 2008 Donruss Elite Extra Edition - School Colors insert set. He is a basketball player, with a few others, in this set. He already has a basketball PID (17995). How can I link him to his basketball PID? To add to the confusion, another player in this set, Derrick Rose, has a baseball PID of 30080, with 150 cards. He also has a basketball PID of 18063, with 1.762 cards. Pretty much all the Elite Extra Edition sets, both Donruss and Panini, are listed as baseball sets, down in the minor league section. Is there an easy answer as to how to clean up these names?

These sets need to be moved to the Multi-Sport listing. That should automatically connect them to their proper listings, but that is something only Admin would know how to do.

I think this actually is a baseball set.  Just happens to include some basketball players.  Redsfan, from the Name Validation screen for that set in question, click EDIT next to Mayo's name.  Put the PID number in the empty LINKED TO PID box and hit SUBMIT.  Close this page.  REFRESH the other page, which should still be open.  Mayo's name should drop off, and you can verify the set as complete.

I was going to do that, but I was not sure if each sport had a separate PID numbering system. Or does a PID follow a player across all sports.

This could be a coincidence, but Bo Jackson is PID 10744 in both baseball and football. So I would guess that the PID follows across the sports.

If there are several Mayo baseball cards (maybe lots of parallels?) you could message Admin to combine him in baseball and basketball. That will make him a search result in both sports.
