2014 Bowman Chrome Baseball Forum

As if Bowman parallels aren't confusing enough, the naming standards of the various Prospects sets in this release are inconsistent.  Some are called "Prospect" and others "Prospects," which sounds very trivial, but completely throws off alphabetization.  Ordinary "prospect" set is plural and comes after many of its own parallels. Additionally, some colors of autographs are "Autograph" and others "Autographs."  Is this a Report Inaccuracies thing, or a Tell Admin thing? 

Never mind.  Maybe the Prospects Gold Refractors set is the only problem. I just saw that Prospects was between two refractor sets.  Bowman makes nice cards but I kind of hate them.

Unfortunately no it is a "Bowman thing." Have I mentioned lately on the boards how much I hate Bowman? The insert sets Prospects is always plural with its parrallels, the autos etc...with endless parrallels is always singular. Bowman sucks (there I go again).

Bowman might be the death of me.  Just now going through it all over again as I enter my collection on here from scratch.  I was just explaining how much I hate Bowman to a friend as I was entering in 2016 cards.  It wasn't even the prospects, it was the chrome cards that threw me off.  Luckily I figured it out, but set me back enough to call it quits for the night.

The good news for me is that I don't buy a ton of them.  But the split Chrome Prospects sets (half in Bowman, half in Bowman Chrome) and the colors are overwhelming sometimes.  That, plus Refractors Gold coming after Refractor Yellow, make Bowman a difficult task.  I could enter a whole un-sorted Topps set quicker than I can add a small stack of assorted Bowman cards.

There are a lot of sets that are listed in the plural or possesive that should not be. I correct them when I come across them. The card itself must be examined, because some actually ARE plural on the card, and some are not. An example would be Showstopper or Showstoppers. Both COULD be correct. (Not a specific set, just an example)

I don't know what everyone is complaining about?! I treated myself to a box of Bowman Draft this year (1st time I've ever spent $100+ on a box). It only took me, like, forever to get it all sorted out!!! It was only when I was sorting through and collating the set did I see several of the parallels for the 1st time. They looked just like the base card whether it was paper or chrome and I couldn't tell the Refractors from the base Chrome. And with the checklist being immature (missing SNs that I added in) it took just that much longer. Pain in the you know what? Ah, yeah.... Got the base set and good portion of the Chromes and have my traders the other parallels, all ready to go
