Anybody know what the deal is with the 1999 Collector's Edge Rookie Rage Basketball Hologold parallels? They are supposedly serial numbered to 50 but we have examples of serial numbered, one that has the "/50" but no unique number, and then one that has no serial numbering at all.

Turning off trading because my collection is in complete disarray after moving and I don't know when I can get it organized.

The card I own is listed in there and as a personal preference, if I can remove the specific serial number of my card without taking away from the integrity of the scan, I do. I leave the /## as a reference to it being serialized, but there is no reason anyone needs to see the number I have. As for the one that does not have a serial number all together, that is new to me, the scan of the front looks to be correct. Since the backs are the same across the base and sub sets, then maybe they just copied it from there.

I don't understand why there would be a need to remove the SN from a scan here.

I am going to have to respectfully disagree with you Billy on this one. I have looked through the Image Guidelines and it sets allot of the standards as to what should not be done to a scan, but does not talk about this in particular. If the card shows 45/50, I remove the 45 and leave the rest. The intergrity of the card and the image does not change other than you do not see the specific serial number of my card. I have uploaded other serialized cards, only when the design of the card where the number is would be affected I have just left it. If this incorrect and I am not the only member that does this, then the site is going to need to be scrubbed. If going forward Admin or the group tells me that I have to upload an image with that number for every scan, then I will determine at that time if I will upload, I have no issues with that.

Removing the SN is altering the card image. Altered cards, whether done physically or digitally, are not acceptable.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

It looks like I am in the wrong on this. I will start working with Admin to remove all of the cards that I have uploaded. Thanks for the feedback.

"Altered" is one of the reasons to reject an image (for those images that wind up in the queue). Therefore, altering a card is deemed unacceptable by Admin.
I am curious though, why do you not want your 45/50 to be seen here? what do you have against that?

Or you could just replace them with unaltered scans.

I agree with what was said according to the letter of the law, but it is a bit surprising to me that it is Billy that is raising that point since it is Billy's guide I starting using to "enhance" the color of my scans. Raw scans always seemed a bit washed out and his instructions helped with getting those colors closer to what I "saw" when I had the card in hand. If that isn't "digitally altering" then I don't know the definition of the phrase.
That being said, when I looked at your scan for Devean George before looking at any of the other uploaded card scans in that set, it was a bit deceiving. Your card appears to have a "150" written in marker on it. When viewed in the context of the "45/50" it becomes much more obvious that "|" character is an "of" separator.
