After seeing a card from this set in the In Memory section, I notice that most of the cards have the borders cropped off. I just don't get how this happens.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Scanners, when the white inside lid is placed, can't tell that the white border is part of the image and not part of the scanner lid. That's why a sheet of colored construction paper behind the cards prevents this from happening. It's all in the link in my signature, but some of the more prolific scanners apparently are more concerned with higher numbers than doing it right.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I guess I was unclear...when I said I don't get how it happens, I meant that the member uploads it when it looks this bad. I understand the concept of scanning. I'm not always great with the concept of getting my point across in writing. Maybe I should go to Banff...

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

MOST?? Look again. EVERY single uploaded image, front and back, are INCOMPLETE. Except for the first card, all done by the same member. Here's what they should look like:
-------------------------------
Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

White border isn't the problem.

Curious how they got past those who approve scans.

You only need a small amount of scans approved before you can upload and accept scans on your own. This type of occurance is happening more and more frequently with some of the members in the top 20 points. Maybe Admin needs a method to review submitted scans on a random basis so that those submitting scans that do not meet the standard can be notified.
