Is there another 1986 Sportsflics Base Set or Parallel or Variety that is not listed in this data base?  I have several of the cards in the Base Set (as listed in this data base.  I also have several that are not listed - they are definitely not part of the "Rookies" or "Decade Greats" sets.  Essentially they are the same payers as listed but with different card numbers (as listed in this data base).  They do not say Series #1 on the top left hand side with black ink but rather blue ink that reads "Card X"  Likewise the verbiage below the stats is in blue instead of red as the the numbered set in this data base.  The pics onthe front seem to be different as well.

So... is there another base set or series or something I have overlooked in this data base?????

Patrick, can you give an example of one of these alternate numbers?

Edit: Reason I ask, you might want to check the 1987 set - the copyright date on them say 1986.

Hi Dan - thanks!  I was just getting ready to reply that I figured it out when you beat me to the punch.   Was catalogging '87 cards today and realized my mistake.  I was originally looking at the copyright date instead of the stats which clearly show '86 making them the 1987 version.  I heard hoof sounds and looked for a zebra instead of the horse LOL

No problem. At least with these cards, they have the stats which helps identify the year no matter the copyright date. The inserts from about 1997-2010 are the ones that get me - a couple of the manufacturers were putting (c) dates on of the previous year. I won 2 sweet auctions (sportlots) a while back, one of Tony Gwynn and another of Frank Thomas. Mostly inserts. Mostly, I had trouble identifying them. (I keep my cards in chronological order, when possible.) So, I totally get how that can throw someone off. Enjoy!
