Jim Thome: Cleveland's Home Run Champion

by ScottoftheBoro - 12 cards (Last updated on Feb 7, 2014)

1. 1991 Upper Deck Final Edition #17F Jim Thome

Just picked this one up this year. I had planned to go to Tribe Fest last month and have good ol' Jim sign it. Sadly, I ended up having to work. Such is the life of a college student with a dead-end job to pay for school. Maybe next year.

2. 1992 Ultra #54 Jim Thome

Got this is one from the guy at my local card shop.

4. 1994 Select #299 Jim Thome

The only horizontally-oriented card of the group. I like how they have Cleveland's new uniform from '94 on the front and the old one on the back.

6. 1996 Fleer - Tiffany #102 Jim Thome

This is my favorite of the bunch from a photo/card design standpoint. When I think of the Jim Thome that I first watched play at the age of four, this is about what comes into my head.

8. 1998 Flair Showcase #89 Jim Thome

Another card that I picked-up from my local hobby shop, I got this one after a friend showed me the same card previously.

9. 1999 Pacific #136 Jim Thome

Think was one of the first baseball cards I ever got (I think was eight or nine...) and my first Jim Thome card (it was the coolest looking one I could find in the Indians Team Shop @ Progressive-then Jacob's-Field). It was my favorite card that I owned for quiet a few years.

10. 2000 Fleer Impact #117 Jim Thome

When I was looking for more Thome cards on Amazon, this one stood out because I already owned about two-dozen of these Fleer Impact cards from when I was a kid. They may have been some of the first packs I ever opened.
