Happy Birthday

51. 1989 Donruss #180 Alan Trammell

Born: 2/21/1958

Reason Chosen: Chosen before he was announced for the Hall of Fame, I've always liked Trammell, and this is the most Tigers card you could find. I love the logo and the jersey too.

52. 1994 Upper Deck Fun Pack #127 Bobby Bonilla

*NOTE: No February 22nd card has made its way into this collection, yet!

Born: 2/23/1963

Reason Chosen: Always love hearing the story of his deferred payment from the Mets, plus I want as many Fun Pack cards I can find.

53. 2009 Donruss Americana #69 Barry Bostwick

Born: 2/24/1945

Reason Chosen: I needed more non-sport cards, and this one was close.

54. 2011 Topps #113 James Starks

Born: 2/25/1986

Reason Chosen: While I don't like the jersey or the helmet, I like James Starks, and I saw him play a game in college. Possibly the first college football game I attended. It was Mizzou vs. Buffalo in 2008.

Front Placeholder

55. 2012 BP Olympic/Paralympic Games #NNO Sanya Richards-Ross

Born: 2/26/1985

Reason Chosen: I wanted to incorporate oddball cards and sets, and this one fit perfectly.

56. 2006-07 Topps #166 Devin Harris

Born: 2/27/1983

Reason Chosen: I just love this card. I know he's setting up a play (I guess) but it just looks funny. If I ever revive my Card Hall of Fame on my blog, this will be added.

57. 2012 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions #36 Eric Lindros

Born: 2/28/1973

Reason Chosen: I don't have many Lindros cards, so this will be a good fit for now.

58. 2012 Upper Deck MLS #24 Perry Kitchen

Born: 2/29/1992

Reason Chosen: No real reason, a placeholder for now.

59. 2012 Upper Deck MLS #145 Joao Plata

Born: 3/1/1992

Reason Chosen: No real reason, most likely a placeholder.

60. 2012 Topps #86 Sebastian Janikowski

Born: 3/2/1978

Reason Chosen: While I've never been a Raiders fan and never will, I've always liked Janikowski's ability to hit the long field goals. He tied the NFL record for longest field goal before Matt Prater broke it a couple years later.

I really liked this list!  My favorites parts are the write up on the Mike Marshall card.  I have a Luke Walker from 1969 that is folded and wrinkled and trimmed because I kept it in my back pocket for good luck when I was a kid.  I wouldn't trade that card for anything now.  Also the Eddie Kennison write up brought back memories of some of the Pittsburgh Pirates boxes I bought off ebay, now I have very, very, very many Steve Cookes.

Good Job!

Thank you.  I really need to scan the Marshall card so it will show up on here.  I miss the days where buying a box off ebay was cheap enough to enjoy.  Now shipping just about kills any deal.
