Cards of interestby Dixxy - 16 cards (Last updated on Apr 6, 2024) |
Just a list of cards that I found amusing or are milestones in my collection
1. 1990-91 Pro Set #703 Wayne Gretzky
My very first Gretzky! Man I was soo excited. I amused my mother with the fact that I treated this card like I had won the lottery. Didn't find out till a few years later that the card was worthless. Still, the novelty of that Christmas remains to this day. |
6. 1998-99 Upper Deck Gold Reserve #241 Ron Francis
IMG0777 makes the back of this card pretty lucky |
7. 1999-00 Upper Deck MVP Stanley Cup Edition #19 Byron Dafoe
And lastly, card 400 for the day. Oh yea, that's right. A milestone in how much dedication I have put into the site in a day. Next goal... 500 cards, or 1000 scans in a day. |

I remember that Gretzky card, as well as that whole set back in the day. Over production was the writing on the wall, making cards worthless. There will always be demand for certain cards, but over production killed any chance of monetary worth. People still sell full unopened cases of boxes from that time.

I still have the set complete minus some errors... as for the boxes, I am thinking of picking up a few in the hopes of finding #246 bloody nose error. it went from about a dollar on ebay to 400 almost over night.

The gilmour made me laugh, just because his face is right by the other guy's butt. |
