- This would be the last year since the inaugral run of 1976 that Fleer issued two stickers per team. Starting in 1982, the complete sticker set would decrease from 56 down to 48. For the rest of the Fleer run (through 1988) the sticker set would remain at 48 and Fleer would eliminate a secondary logo (and just issue a single helmet sticker) for the following eight teams:
Baltimore/Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Green Bay, NY Giants, NY Jets, San Diego and Seattle.
