A nice looking set that was definitely influenced by the 1989 Donruss set.

My first ever pack of cards from a birthday party in summer of 1990. Got a Ben McDonald rookie, which was as close you got to a chase card at the time, especially growing up in MD. Sent it to him at Memorial Stadium and it came back autographed. Sold my collection many years later (only to start over again a few years ago) but still have and love that autographed Ben McDonald card.

This is the first major box I ever received, found it in my parents closet, it had been a company promotion at the time.

This is the first pack of cards I remember buying. I had several bought for me prior to this as a kid, but this is the first one I remember buying with my own money. I still get a sense of nostalgia every time I see one---this and 1990 Donruss Baseball. I wish cards from the early 90's held up better (price-wise) but I suppose there are a million reasons they didn't, which are too many to go over and not keeping with the intent of this post.

It's great to be here and I look forward to getting the rest of my collection uploaded and interacting with this community.

Most of my box bottoms are in 4 card panels.

This was the first pack of cards I ever bought. It was July 4, 1990; I was seven years old, and much to the chagrin of the cashier at Pensupreme (regional convenience store), I bought it with 53 pennies. I don't remember which cards it contained, but I do remember both that the people in line did not appreciate me counting out my pennies and that I didn't understand their issue with it. That's a lot of specific detail considering I bought my last baseball card in 1993, but throughout that window of time, I attached (too much) significance to the memory of riding my bike to the convenience store with way too many pennies in my pocket on the Fourth of July that year.

As a seven-year-old, I thought the cards looked super cool.

As a... not seven-year-old, I see these cards as a terrible knock-off of Memphis Group design which have aged terribly; the visual equivalent of when a middle school math teacher attempts an EDM album to connect with the students because the 11 o'clock news said "kids like the EDM music."

But, with plenty of hindsight, there is actually a unique aspect to these cards. They unmistakably look like "1990 Topps." These aren't the unremarkable 83/84/85 or late-70s designs where you need to cross-reference the internet to figure out which set it is. It is 1990 Topps. 1989 caps off a great 3 of 4 run of cards which still look good today. 1991 is a different beast entirely from everything before and after; 1992 is the evolution of this design. But 1990 Topps is 1990 Topps. That's worth* something.

*note: we're talking early 90s "junk wax"** here, It is worth absolutely nothing.

This set has aged very well. Although not a popular design initially, I think it has grown into a classic design over the years. If you hasn't looked at these cards in a while, take another look.

I remember many not liking this set but I always liked it. I guess as a bit of an oddity. multi colored pixelated borders. I recently completed my set after 24 years and although it was considered "junk wax" I enjoy it

in my opinion, after 1989, this was sort of a downer as far as look goes. Very sterile in the font choice and borders. Not the ugliest set ever, but also nothing to write home about. I remember being so distracted by the Upper Deck stuff that I didn't even notice this set. I collected it to have it - to continue the Topps string.

Boring looking set. The colored borders add alittle splash, but disappointing overall.
