1972 Topps Set Build Needs by TwinKiller Last updated on May 14, 2023 As I am starting to get in to the set building craze, I decided to pick my favorite set as the first one I want to complete. I think a good chunk of these can be found at my LCS but if not, a note will be placed under the card and then I will eventually trade for it.

My Collection of Players Associated with Quirky Trivia by Vvvergeer Last updated on Apr 27, 2023 The more I collect, the more interested I've become in getting a bit more free-form. Collecting all the Topps sets is nice, but other quirky "sets" are more fun.
Especially when I'm buying vintage cards, where I'm likely to only buy one card from the set, I need some reason to buy one card over another. I go for Cubs, but I don't know any of the non-stars from each other. So how to decide? I do a little research and find the cards of guys with quirky trivia attached to them. Here are the cards I bought almost exclusively because there is odd trivia connected to the player. There's plenty of great trivia connected to other card I have, but I bought many of those cards for other reasons. As always, feel free to suggest others. I'll probably want to buy them.

Compiling a list of other player's cards where the G.O.A.T. is in the background. PSA now denotes at least one card as such on their slabs, the 1990 Hoops Sam Vincent #223 which "Shows Michael Jordan". So maybe this will become a thing. If you can help, please do!

Team Tribute Sets MLB Jay’s Publishing 1962 Old Timers Dodgers, Giants and Yankees by stevejrogers Last updated on Apr 20, 2023 As far as I can tell, according to this site anyway, these probably are the first “retired” sets that concentrated on specific franchises.
Of course there had been sets released previously featured random, or not so much random (HOF sets, Connie Mack’s All-Time All-Stars) assortment of past stars, as well as sets dedicated to one player (Babe Ruth, Ted Williams (though Williams was active at the time). But nothing before dedicated to the past of a franchise as a whole, or a specific season or era in team history.

Cards within budget that I would like to own by vrooomed Last updated on Apr 7, 2023 These are simply cards that are very cool to own, and won't completely blow the household budget to obtain. Some, based on how they look, some based on who they are. All, simply personal preference. Additionally, one of my "projects" is to get at least one card of the baseball HOFers from during their playing days - provided they appear in a Bowman or Topps set (T-206 and Goudey HOFers would not fit in that "affordable" price range).
