Only three coins from this Jets set were issued, as the promotion failed to garner enough sales to pay for the delivery of the last four coins from the Royal Canadian Mint, the manufacturer of the dollars. The coins were designated as municipal trade dollars, good for $1 in participating businesses in the local businesses, but they were never distributed as coins alone, but rather taped onto the display cards and sold at participating stores for $1.50. There were three players issued as coins: Brian Hayward, Tim Watters and Dale Hawerchuk. Issued as cards only were Lucien Deblois, Brian Mullen, Morris Lukowich and Dave Babych.
