Trivia

  • Fifth and final set to include ABA cards.
  • This is the only set to include San Diego Sails cards. They are featured on 11 cards, which matches the number of official games the Sails played before folding (though the franchise did previously play three seasons as the Conquistadors).

After going through dozens and dozens of card battles. I give
this set a solid 7. Once again, the posed shots are much better
than the "in action" shots.
The team cards are pretty well done, especially the Supersonics, with the team posing on the airplane.
The biggest problem with this set is it's very hard to read the card numbers on the back of the cards.

The 1975-76 Topps basketball card set of 330 standard-size cards was the largest basketball set ever produced up to that time. Cards were issued in 10-card which cost 15 cents per pack and had 24 packs per box. NBA players are depicted on cards 1-220 and ABA players on cards 221-330. Team Leaders (TL) cards are 116-133 (NBA teams) and 278-287 (ABA). Other subsets include NBA Statistical Leaders (1-6), NBA Playoffs (188-189), NBA Team Checklists (203-220), ABA Statistical Leaders (221-226), ABA Playoffs (309-310) and ABA Team Checklists (321-330). All-Star selections (first and second team) for both leagues are noted on the respective player's regular cards. Card backs are printed in blue and green on gray card stock. The set is particularly hard to sort numerically, as the small card number on the back is printed in blue on a dark green background. The set was printed on three large sheets each containing 110 different cards. Investigation of the second (series) sheet reveals that 22 of the cards were double printed; they are marked DP in the checklist. Rookie Cards in this set include Bobby Jones, Maurice Lucas, Moses Malone and Keith (Jamaal) Wilkes.
