Completing this set remains one of my crowning achievements in the hobby. While I do not care at all for the sets that have short prints in them, which Upper Deck did often, in this set including SP Rookies, some of which are autographed, and a lengthy subset serially numbered to 2000. It is the only one of the many sets done in this style I've completed. I got lucky- when I did my two boxes, the first box yielded the Yao Ming autograph. The second, Manu Ginobili's autograph. With the toughest card to get (read as: Most expensive to purchase as a single) I thought I might be able to complete the set, and I did, in 2004. I did this all before I had an eBay account by the way! The most I had to spend for a card in this set was the Amare Stoudemire RC Autograph. I don't remember what it cost me- $40 comes to mind, which is double my usual limit for spending on a single card. This set also is host to my only triple autographed card, although I was not lucky enough to pull it, I purchased it at a shop in Connecticut that I still visit on occasion. The biggest irony in this whole deal? I don't even like the set design all that much. I prefer sets that have not been digitally altered, that show an actual photograph as it was taken. None of the cards in this set fit that bill, with the basic player cards having portions of the background cropped out, the colors messed with and so forth. The subset has the background totally removed, as do all the rookie cards. The only real reason I went after this set, and completed it, was that I knew there were no stoppers I couldn't afford. Pretty much every other set that has autographs, serially numbered, or jersey cards had at least one that I know I'd never be able to get if I didn't pull it from a pack.
