Set: 1991 Score Rookies (Rate)

Card: #25 Mike Benjamin

“ Even without the logo in the top right I knew this was a Score card. They just kept putting the same design elements on every set and added bright colors. Still better than most Fleer sets though. ” -sascards67

“ I wonder when he entered the league...? ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Hey! One of my scans.. lol This set is interesting.. Half the players didn't amount to anything while the others turned into decent players. ” -Mike67

“ Looks like he's playing football! ” -jlaz10

“ Wow, I didn't think this was possible, but there actually appears to be a 80s/90s Score card that I actually like! ” -Hollywood42

Set: 1998 Pinnacle (Rate)

Card: #139 Kenny Rogers

“ They couldn't afford to put the players first name on the card?? Also, is this a staged photo or is he just smiling because he likes the pitch? ” -yokonashiwa

“ I hate it when companies only use the last name of the player. ” -jlaz10

“ One of the guys that could never play in NY. The media got to him. He choked for the Mets & Yanks. He did do great in Texas & Detroit though. ” -deporcoruña

“ Rogers was a bit of a journey man. He played 20 seasons for the Rangers (3 different times), Yankees, Athletics, Mets, Twins and Tigers. Despite a fairly high career ERA (4.27), Rogers was 63 games over .500 and was only 32 strikouts shy of 2,000 for his career. ” -carthage44

“ Kenny stuck around forever, but I haven't heard anything about him in a long time ” -Hollywood42

Set: 2011 Topps Heritage (Rate)

Card: #483 Trevor Hoffman

“ I am not a fan of most heritage sets but I love this one with the wood border. CLASSIC! ” -carthage44

“ I know this wood design takes a lot of derision in the hobby, but I like it. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I don't like these sets. I believe it's lack of originality. The fellas at Topps should come up with a different product if they want to sell more. ” -deporcoruña

“ This set of Topps Heritage is one of my favorites. ” -jlaz10

“ I simply do not like the Heritage sets. ” -NJDevils

Set: 1979 Topps (Rate)

Card: #358 Reuben Gant

“ Awesome set! ” -carthage44

“ I always found it odd how on old Topps cards the colors of the name, team name, and accents had nothing to do with the team. ” -jlaz10

“ Cool card ” -Hollywood42

“ Nice design. Nothing too extraneous. No HGH either by the looks of this tight end. ” -NJDevils

“ Who p*ssed this guy off? ” -deporcoruña

“ This would have been a better design if the banner behind the football was removed or at least was the team colors of the player represented. ” -sascards67

Set: 2011 TriStar Obak (Rate)

Card: #116 Hank Greenberg

“ Really like this tribute card. Awesome background! ” -carthage44

“ Cool card! Although I don't care much for baseball, history, and in particular military history, occupies much of my time in reading and learning about it. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ The angle makes it look a bit out of proportion, but other than that, it looks cool! Wish Obak would make a set with current MLB players- I'd be a huge fan ” -Hollywood42

“ Imagine if they made one of these for every soldier in WWII! ” -jlaz10

“ I tried to give Obak a chance but it really was not very well executed. ” -sascards67

Set: 1998 Mother's Cookies Oakland Athletics (Rate)

Card: #16 Dave Magadan

“ Can't wait for baseball season so we'll see some hockey cards.jk ” -uncaian

“ I like the color scheme...it looks like team colors. The green(ish) and yellow looks cool togther. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Has anyone ever seen the upper levels of Oakland's stadium filled up? Shame I'm not an A's fan and living in that area, games must be cheap! ” -Hollywood42

“ Had no idea Magadan ever played in the AL let alone the A's. ” -sascards67

“ Mother's Cookies made cards in 1998? And with borders and logos? ” -jlaz10

“ Look, it's Lou Pinella's cousin. ” -deporcoruña

Set: 1994 Collector's Choice (Rate)

Card: #24 Steve Soderstrom

“ I liked Collector's Choice as a kid but now I see that CC was the cheap and over-produced version of the Upper Deck sets. ” -carthage44

“ The man never lost a game. Retired with a perfect record ” -Young Kilo

“ Early Collector's Choice subsets always had too big graphics for my taste. At the time, anyway...later on it would get to the point where the graphics were all the card was, and not a real photo anymore, so I guess it's all relative. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ So i was standing there, and then this glove magically appeared next to me... ” -jlaz10

“ He's got more of a hockey name IMO. ” -DanD

“ This card doesn't get THIS collector's choice ” -Hollywood42

“ Love the angle here, why, because the reality is he's either a) on a little league baseball field b) in the parking lot of Kmart or c) there's a prison off in the distance. ” -SaveDaKid

Set: 1988 Topps (Rate)

Card: #479 Brett Butler

“ 1988- the boom period of the hobby that, unfortunately, was the beginning of its undoing. Card stores in every town, fights breaking out at wholesale clubs for cases of new product, and dealers selling 100-card lots of rookies like penny stocks. It's amazing to think about how much 1988 Topps must have been produced and sold, with none of it having held any value. ” -Dave Sosidka

“ He seems to have seen something funny off to the side... ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Wasn't he in Major League? ” -suomibear8

“ Trust me, there was nothing this humorous about playing on the Indians then. ” -Jaysee88

“ Anybody ever notice how on this set the banner at the bottom folds back into the picture? ” -jlaz10

“ By the look on his face it looks like Brett just let one rip. ” -PDIZZLE

“ Brett before his face was being eaten away by the cancer he got from dipping. ” -sascards67

“ I loved his sitcom Base Under Fire. (crickets) ” -DanD

“ "HA, I'm on a Topps card and you're not!" he says ” -Hollywood42

Set: 1978 Topps (Rate)

Card: #568 Tom Hutton

“ 1970s hair style for sure! ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Back to the basics ” -Hollywood42

“ Looks like his hair attached to the hat. ” -suomibear8

“ Classic Topps... 'nuf said. ” -jlaz10

“ One of my favorite sets as a kid, and one of the earliest complete sets I have in NM condition. For me, this was the best era of card collecting (70's & 80's). ” -deporcoruña

“ I'm sorry but this looks like they handed a guy a uniform and took the picture as a joke. Great mustache though. ” -sascards67

Set: 1992 Topps - Gold (Rate)

Card: #278 Darryl Hamilton

“ Although as I've stated this Topps design is one of my favorites, the cards layed out like this I like less than the normal vertical cards. But maybe that's just me. I'm not sure about baseball but the basketball version of this set was the first standard paralell in history. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Nice design for the wasteland of cards produced in the early 90's. I am a sucker for the gold parallel sets. ” -flcardtrader

“ Landscape cards look a lot better than portrait. ” -jlaz10

“ Horizontal layout cards have always appealed to me ” -Hollywood42

“ Topps Gold was the start of complete parallel sets. As a kid, I thought the gold foil made the card worth hundreds! ” -carthage44
