Set: 2012 Grandstand Midwest League Top Prospects (Rate)

Card: #NNO Jorge Bonifacio

“ Has been mostly a bust, especially since his 80 game suspension for testing positive for a banned substance. Always happy to see a minor league card come up on RCOTD. They are much more innovative than major league cards. This card front isn't my favorite but at least it is unique. I really like the back though. 6 out of 10 for the front, 9 for the back. ” -davidhandberry

“ I appreciate cards with non-white bordering ” -NorthernTouch

“ From non-drafted free agent to top prospect and a big league career. Not too shabby. Back in the minors though now. ” -vanstryland

“ OK minor league card but could use some improvements. Front isn't terrible but I think the players name should be more prominent. Maybe have it across the bottom? Border frame only 3 sides is OK but a bit odd. Team name is there but a logo would be nice. Back pretty good, OH there is the team logo. ” -captkirk42

“ I do not like this design at all ” -biggiofn7

“ Pretty nice looking for MiLB. ” -muskie027

Set: 1991 Topps (Rate)

Card: #451 Neal Heaton

“ He appears to be propping up the border with his foot. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I actually like this set quite a bit since they used team fonts for the team name. Plus it's a Buccos card! It appears the picture was taken at Three Rivers Stadium. It was a dreadful place to watch baseball, I kinda miss it, a little. ” -Gunny

“ I have been looking through too many 1991 Topps recently looking for all the variations. Dark logo, black light, normal, or some variation of them all. I used to like this set but as time has gone by it has diminished and is now one of my least favorite sets. The redeeming factor is basically the Chipper Jones rookie card. ” -davidhandberry

“ It's a 1991 Topps. I'm surprised there's not 23 different errors/variations of this card. ” -DocOso

“ Nice early 1990s Topps card. ” -captkirk42

“ Absolutely love the 1991 Topps cards. This was the peak of my childhood collecting years and this set brings back so many good memories. ” -carthage44

“ 1991 Topps the last year that they used the grey cardboard back. ” -kirkscards

“ What a nondescript player and card. At least its a RCOTD I own. You'd think Topps could have done better for the 40th, but I do miss borders.... ” -Vvvergeer

Set: 2002-03 Upper Deck Foundations (Rate)

Card: #103 Bobby Orr

“ Taken nanoseconds before the more famous picture it looks like. Nice card. ” -ShoTime

“ That is one of the most iconic moments in the sport. Very cool card. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ And just shy one year of 50, both teams see each other again in the finals only to have the reverse outcome. ” -Mscott713

“ This card baffles me. In some ways I really like it. The pictures are great on the front and back. The front has everything you need and I like the silhouette in the corner. The back is the same, everything I like is there. I think it is the different little sections that just bothers me though. Something is just off to me visually. ” -davidhandberry

“ The front looks like it could be a back ” -Lennoxmatt

“ Not familiar with this set, sub-set, insert set whatever. Looks like a commemorative type card at least. Wow high serial number #/1250. ” -captkirk42

“ Yes!! My Bruins and one of the Greats at that. Back when hockey was hockey. ” -biggiofn7

“ The front of this card looks like it should be the back. ” -DocOso

“ Not the best looking card in the world, but I can't hate on what it depicts. ” -DanD

Set: 1966 Philadelphia Green Berets (Rate)

Card: #39 Tough Training

“ Fighting Soldiers from the sky Fearless men who jump and die Men who mean just what they say The brave men of the Green Beret This popped into my head 0.15 seconds upon seeing this card. ” -rmpaq5

“ Is this based on reality or a TV show? If it's reality, then it's awesome and I need to add this set to my collection. If it's a TV show, I'm a lot less interested...but still might add some if I come across them at a good price. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I like the front. How can any American not like a set depicting our military. The back though is bad. I wonder if anyone out there is putting together the backs of cards into the picture. I have never done it and never met a collector that did. Thus making the backs of many sets a waste. I would rather just a generic back than these puzzle piece backs. ” -davidhandberry

“ 100 men will test today But only 3 win the Green Beret... ” -stevejrogers

“ A decent card in a beautiful set. RCOTD has been on fire lately in introducing me to some great sets. ” -Brimose

“ De Oppresso Liber ” -CollectingAfterDeath

“ Nice vintage non-sport. ” -captkirk42

Set: 1979 TCMA West Haven Yankees (Rate)

Card: #7 Buck Showalter

“ Very rare to get a minor league card of someone that made it to the majors. Strangely he never made it as a player but has been a manager in the majors pretty consistently for about 30 years. If you have read my reviews you know I am going to love this set. Even if it has a white border and several other things I usually dislike. I forgive all when it comes to minor league cards, especially older ones. ” -davidhandberry

“ I wonder if Buck ever figured out what was wrong with Tartabull's swing? The cotton uniforms certainly didn't help. ” -AirPete

“ Nice Minor League Card. OH look it is a current Manager. ” -captkirk42

Set: 2009 Upper Deck 20th Anniversary (Rate)

Card: #292 Michael Jordan

“ With how much Upper Deck relied on MJ, I'm surprised he didn't get his own 2000 card set. He actually got more cards after he retired than most players get in their careers. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Nice design for the most part. Upper Deck logos are too big on the front and back to me. The back could use something else, it looks very sparse. ” -davidhandberry

“ Kudos to Upper Deck for making this anniversary set. However with it being 1,000 + cards few have attempted to complete the set. I often ignore it. I have a handful (3 or 4?) cards from this set one or two sports related and 1 or 2 non-sport. I think I still have one of Prince Harry and Prince William. ” -captkirk42

“ mj ” -crashdavis28

“ Jordan is cool, this card is only ok at best. ” -muskie027

“ This is a cool set. I like the way Upper Deck used a multi-sport approach in the 20th Anniversary set, rather than a single sport anniversary set or insert sets of single sports - like the 1999 Upper Deck 10th Anniversary inserts. ” -Alomar_Collector

Set: 1995 Topps (Rate)

Card: #177 Chris Howard

“ I get tired of the white borders but I miss this era where Topps actually tried. The front besides the border is very nice. The back is probably one of, if not the best back Topps has ever done. You get two pictures, a headshot and action shot. You get full stats and his info and a little blurb at the bottom. Every company should look at this card to learn what a back could be with proper use of space. ” -davidhandberry

“ Isn't it just a week or so ago Joshua nabbed somebody on ebay for selling cards from this set as "Special Gold Foil Parallel", even though all the cards have gold foil? ” -rmpaq5

“ In my opinion, probably the worst Topps design in my lifetime. Too plain and blah. ” -suomibear8

“ Nice full-frame action shot and minimalist white border. The torn edge photo framing and handwritten-style font scream 90's, but otherwise a nice looking card. ” -clallseven

“ Although I like the design concept, I think '95 Topps suffers -- more so than other years -- from not having the team logo somewhere on the front. Just too plain. The backs of these cards, on the other hand, are among the best every crafted by the Topps team. ” -mkaz80

“ 1995 Topps one of my least favorite 1990s Topps designs. The script-like foil lettering for the player name is often hard to read, especially when the foil has flaking, fading problems. Other than that the front design is OK. Back is OK. I'm not a huge fan of full color backs, or color player pictures on back at least the background color is white. ” -captkirk42

“ Love the back of the card. I don't particularly love the rugged border, but it was the 90s, so it seems fitting. An improvement over the 1994 base design. ” -vanstryland

“ Might be the most boring card ever on RCOTD, from the design, to the back, to the player, to the photo, to the overproduced year.... and yet somehow it all works. ” -Brimose

“ Nice set ” -cjjt

“ 95 topps in all sports was just I great classic simple design, gotta special spot in my heart for them cause that's when I started collecting ” -Thunderfoot

“ Reminds me of the last NBA set I collected from the 90's before my hiatus from the hobby. ” -muskie027

Set: 2008 Press Pass Stealth Retail - Mach 08 (Rate)

Card: #M8-1 Jeff Gordon

“ The problem with listing the base set as retail and the hobby version as a parallel is that the inserts get tagged as retail, when to my knowledge they are the same between both versions. Jeff is one of my all time favorite drivers and has more wins than anyone else in my lifetime... although that record may not last forever. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I usually think that racing cards need the driver and car in some way but this card disproves that notion. It is an amazing looking card. I like the shadow behind him, the background, very good pictures on the front and back. 10s for the front and back. ” -davidhandberry

“ A racing card that actually looks like a racing card. Pretty nice but I know a few here will complain there is no picture of his car. ” -captkirk42

Set: 2017-18 Panini Status - Factions Blue (Rate)

Card: #23 Isiah Thomas / Joe Dumars / Bill Laimbeer

“ Nice scan of a challenging card to scan well. Not a fan of Status at all. There are literally a dozen designs seen in Chronicles that would have made for a better full release than Status, but we don't get them. Instead we get a card set that looks like an Easter egg coloring factory exploded...one of the very few sets where the inserts are more interesting than the base cards. I'm not a huge fan of the Bad Boy era Pistons...but at least this is serially numbered. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Status is such a slick looking set. I'm also a fan of these cards because they are showing off great players from the franchise ” -ketchupman36

“ The Bad Boys were a great team. The soft players of today wouldn't be able to hang in the Bad Boys era ” -Young Kilo

“ Soooooo much blue, would have preferred larger pictures of the players ” -aussiewayne

“ I like the concept of this set and own several of them (well, not the blue parallel), but this particular trio of players reminds me of the Meat Loaf song "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad". ” -bevans

“ I like multiplayer cards and the border and everything works for me. The front I would give a 10. The back though needs something. It is very bland. I love the blue background but it needs to go all the way to the bottom and they need something besides just the logo on the top half. ” -davidhandberry

“ Initially seeing it I immediately assumed it was one of those cards that has space left for a MEM version....nope just wasted space. ” -rmpaq5

“ OK a 3 player from same team kind of card. Factions? What do they mean by that? ” -captkirk42

“ Bad boys on a generally badly designed card. ” -vanstryland

“ Even though it contains an image of the despicable Bill Laimbeer, this is a pretty nice looking card. ” -mkaz80

Set: 2015 Panini Elite - 21st Century Green (Rate)

Card: #21 Dilson Herrera

“ I like the green...my favorite color. Didn't I just write that yesterday or the day before, too? If you move your mouse over the front and back really quick, his eyes kind of look like they are blinking. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ It looks like a memorabilia set that they forgot to purchase patches so they just put a huge logo in the center instead. I usually try to defend Panini a bit but this is bad. Same picture, in the same orientation and everything just faded on the back. Way too much wasted space. The biggest thing on the card front is the logo. It's just a mess to me. ” -davidhandberry

“ DILSON!! Was a top prospect for the Mets but he has never really panned out ” -Tylergallo

“ While I like the coloring, terrible card. Front & back same. "New York"--just plain. No emblems, etc. ” -cjjt

“ Sigh a modern Donruss card by Paninii. I really miss the real Donruss cards. Sure the Panini versions revived many of the Donruss brands and sets but they have ruined them in so many ways. Nice looking parallel though. Like it is serial numbered If it wasn't colored foil it would be a real nice card. Back needs a different picture not a B&W of the front. Too much wasted space since he is a rookie should have Minor league stats or college stats. Not just one year stats. If not enough stats available some career highlights or info on the guy. ” -captkirk42

“ It’s ok at best. ” -muskie027

“ Normally not a big fan of colorful graphics, but this one seems to work for me. Not the best, but not bad. Even the same photo on the back doesn't bother me on this card as much as it normally does for some reason. ” -Brimose
