The NBA does not hand out Playoff MVP awards, only Finals MVP awards. A minor point of semantics. Hakeem was named Finals MVP in the very season this card was issued, as he led the Rockets to the first of two consecutive NBA titles. He was also NBA MVP the same season. Despite the fact that this is one of the more common sets, and I've had the complete subset since at least 1997, have seen the cards hundreds of times at least, I just noticed looking at the picture that the background design is a bracket.
