Year: 2007

Set: Topps - Distinguished Service (Rate)

Card: #DS25 Ted Williams

“ Excellent set! I had not seen it before. I just finished reading all of them, and added them to my wantlist, even...not for the baseball aspect but the history aspect, as history is truly my favorite topic. This is the only card I know of to feature Richard Bong, the WWII pilot credited with downing the most planes, for example. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Fine idea for a set. I didn't know these existed. I was out of the card loop from about 2004-2012 so I missed a lot. I like this card. ” -switzr1

“ The man really could do it all ” -Young Kilo

“ Very cool ” -jackal726

“ I don't know why they refer to him as an "ace", because looking at both his service record and the list of Korean War flying aces, he didn't shoot down any enemy aircraft on his 39 combat missions, let alone the five necessary to qualify as an ace. ” -UNC_Samurai

“ Nice tribute set! Ted struggled in the marriage department, but sure did everything else well! ” -bkklaos

“ Ted Williams was a great American! ” -Gunny

“ 'Murica. ” -jlaz10

A great insert set that included athletes who served, presidents who served, and war heroes.  This is what I think insert sets should be.
