Year: 1991-92

Set: Parkhurst (Rate)

Card: #220 Patrick Roy

“ This is so plain looking, I initially thought it was from that terrible Classie All-Sport set. Maybe it's borrowing the design of a popular vintage set. Either way, I don't like this card. At all. ” -switzr1

“ I think Parkhurst was trying to go Retro Mod.They failed miserably. Great goalie, ugly card. ” -uncaian

“ One of the best goalies of all time, and this card is one of the worst. ” -engine614

“ Frequent All-Star: A subset to get yet another Patrick Roy, Wayne Gretzky, Steve Yzerman, etc. card in the full set (and to pad the size of the set). I could really do without the yellow background. And before stats guys go ballistic, there was at least one other card in the set that had Roy's stats. :) ” -vrooomed

“ Nice simple card surprising from the time period it comes from. Well sub-set actually. The regular base cards from this set are OK not great but these All-Star cards excuse me "Frequent" All-Star cards are nice. ” -captkirk42

“ Reminiscent of the 1960-61 Parkhurst design. I'm no fan of reusing card designs. It smacks of laziness. As if they're admitting they can't create a good design and have to resort to plagiarism. After this set was produced, ProSet entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy and after the 1992-93 set they were backrupt. ” -C2Cigars

“ Is he skating on the sun? ” -carthage44

“ I'm not sure why I like this, but I do ” -jackal726

This card is SOOOO ugly! What possessed Parkhurst to design this AND then actually make the cards. What a horrible design. Even if this had been a gold foil/chrome design, it would still be terrible. The back is lackluster but at least it looks better than the front of the card!

This card is not representative of the base set which is pretty boring.   Was hard to tell Parkies apart  with Emerald, French versions etc...
