Year: 2004-05

Set: Ultra (Rate)

Card: #18 Chris Wilcox

“ Reminds me of the 1996-97 Ultra. I like the back on this set a lot. And it's a really good photo on the front. I hope he didn't get a technical foul for hanging on the rim! ” -switzr1

“ Love the 2004-05 Ultra set...the last one produced by Fleer before they went out of business. Great photos, colorful card backs and nameplates on the front that pay homage to earlier Ultra sets. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Huh?!? What could the guy in the background possibly be looking at? I realize your team's being dunked on, but turn your head dude, the play is at 9 o'clock. On the back: Plenty of blank space, but Fleer had nothing to say about Chris Wilcox. If I owned this card, I'd try try to fill the void by asking Mr. Wilcox for an autograph by mail. ” -dilemma19

“ Good old Fleer Ultra. Fleer Ultra that is where I look for this set first, I keep forgetting some years it was just listed under ULTRA. Wish both searches linked to same actual checklist. Even though they used foil for the name it is readable. Most foil texts are not. Standard would like team name, logo and players position. Back needs bio/info in that space at the bottom. ” -captkirk42

“ I'm torn on this one. Part of me likes the big open space on the back and part of me wishes it had been used. Overall a decent card. Is that Brent Barry in the background. He doesn't seem too interested in the play. ” -Mitch

“ I like this design a lot. ” -wax_house

“ Lotsa real estate on the back of this card. Nice action shot though. ” -Kaline6

“ The lack of any type of info on the back and just blank white space is terrible. ” -carthage44

“ Why is there so much blank space on the back? And since that's the case, why are the stats so small? ” -ketchupman36

Really? No one is going to comment on the horrible font his name is in? Or mention that the focal point of the whole card is his crotch? I guess it's just me.

For those complaining about the open space on the back, take a look at somebody's card who had been in the league longer; here's just one example. http://www.tradingcarddb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/3114/cid/761771/2004-05-Ultra-26-David-Wesley?PageIndex=1

Yes, that is Brent Barry in the background.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.

Better design than some Ultra sets, but nothing that makes it stand out.

Really afraid to look and see how all the super glossy Ultra stuff I do have has held up, figure it's all just bricks.

That's painful to look at. David Wesley was an awesome player, that's from around the time I was boycotting the NBA because they let that crook George Shinn move the Hornets to New Orleans. Now that MJ has brought the name back to Charlotte, it's just not the same.
