Random Card of the Day |
Thursday, July 7, 2016Year: 2016 Set: Topps Heritage - News Flashbacks (Rate) “ Evel Knievel needs his own set. It's nice to see a card from this year featured as the COTD ” -ketchupman36
“ Excellent. This was probably considered a great action shot in 1967. A bit before my time, but I never understood what drove Evel to keep trying these stunts. Maybe a concussion sustained during his first attempt clouded his judgement? "Numerous broken bones"... ” -dilemma19
“ Love it! I remember him being quite the sensation when I was a kid! ” -bkklaos
“ Cool an Evel Knievel set! Oh wait its only Topps Heritage News Flashbacks. Not sure which jump is shown... Not the Caesar's Palace jump they highlight in which he had one of his most famous crashes resulting in probably the most breaks he had in any one crash. Ah its this 23 November 1967 jump at San Francisco Civic Center. Knievel was the Elvis of Motorcycle Stunt Jumping. ” -captkirk42
“ Just opened a box of these cards but I didn't get this "cool" insert. ” -carthage44
“ Just Awesome! ” -rmpaq5
“ It would be a bit cooler if it depicted the actual jump that the card describes...the Caesars Palace fountain jump… But among Flashback cards, this one is not that bad. At least it’s a nice action card. On a side note, I like the title on the back of the card "Knievel Makes His Bones"...nice...a bit better than "Knievel Breaks His Bones" ...which is what he actual did on Dec 31, 1967...I take it back ... I guess the man did both. ” -Rolando
“ Really. A motorcycle rider card. Really ” -Xg200
“ Love ” -SFC Temple
“ Used to be a big fan as a kid of Evel. Nothing too fancy, nice shot, and decent design. Might need to track this one down. ” -Doc Floyd
“ Is a guy breaking all his bones really that "spectacular". Just seems like a weird adjective to describe what I would consider a failure. ” -switzr1
