Seeing as Sunderland AFC is a British team the spelling of defence works as I believe defense would be the correct American version, another one of the language nuances that one faces on a daily basis. As for the card I'm not a great soccer fan, the field is enormous and there doesn't ever seem to be enogh offense/offence! for me.
