Random Card of the Day

Year: 2009

Set: Press Pass Legends - Gold (Rate)

Card: #55 Tony Stewart

“ Be nice if the background was in focus. It is a pretty good photo of Mr. Stewart, Certainly his sponsors are getting their money's worth. The back is decent, with a racing shot and a bit of trivia. By title I presume they mean the season long competition, not individual races. ” -John Kerry

“ One of the few race car drivers I know by sight, because an ex-coworker was obsessed with him and had pictures all over her office. After his famous mishap, I never heard her mention racing again. ” -switzr1

“ Cool serial number card. I like it. ” -muskie027

“ I didn't open a single pack of this set. A friend gave me the base set and I picked up a few of the numbered parallels on COMC. Still hard to believe that Tony is retired now. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Cool, it's one of my scans! I think this is my 3rd RCOTD. I don't have this card anymore b/c it wasn't hard to trade it for a PC card. I liked this set when it came out (and still do), but it really made me buy a box of the 2010 set. I never had an interest in the Legends releases until then. The designs of PPL were always nice with good photos and a decent amount of info (for racing cards). ” -spazmatastic

“ This is a perfect Auto Racing card. I would like this design for just about any sport card actually. The only problem I have is with the person. As a former Office Depot employee I was always bothered with the fact that they couldn't give employees raises and yet they would pay him millions a year to ride in a car with their logo. ” -davidhandberry

“ Really nice S/#'ed card. A basic design, executed with a touch of elegance. I swear I've seen this photo of Tony Stewart 100 times before. ” -kents_stuff

“ Nice looking racing card. I hate Press Pass for Football because it is all College with no mention of the Pro teams the guys are drafted for. I do like this and Press Pass seems to be pretty good for Racing. ” -captkirk42

“ Nice portrait card. Excellent use of border. The company / set name on the ribbon in the upper left corner is spot on. Picture of the Tony's car on the back is the way to make the back pop. All in all, one of the better racing type cards I've seen. ” -CollectingAfterDeath

“ Other than the cheesy border/frame design, I like everything about this card. It's serial numbered, has a nice pic of Tony on the front and his car on the back, and has some annotation along with the stats. I may have to start collecting racing cards now... ” -NSEndo

Wait, did we all just agree that this card looks good?  One member even said "perfect"?  I never thought I would see the day!!  Especially with a racing card!!!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff.  Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

It is a great card.

Tony Stewart has always been my fav. Right from day one.

Up until recently my home office was known as the Tony Stewart room. Completely adorned with mem. We recently listed the house and slowly it all had to be packed up. Not sure what will happen to it next.

Like Billy said it is hard to believe that he is not out there.

He was never the same after that tragic day. Sad all around.

Racing for me has never been the same since he climbed out for the last time.

I am buying pre-1987 Non Sports. Let's discuss if you have any for sale, even if not listed here.
