Random Card of the Day |
Sunday, October 7, 2018Year: 2014 Set: Topps Update - Red Foil (Rate) “ I am really beginning to dislike foil cards. The backgrounds are blah! The picture of the player is a nice action shot. I don't if it is the or the scan but the name is hard to read. The back is a throwback to Topps cards of old, which I like. It made me look up why he was out of baseball. Save for that damn background a nice card. ” -John Kerry
“ I bet this looks awesome in hand! It looks pretty good in the scan, too. Topps had some really awesome parallels around that time. ” -Billy Kingsley
“ 2014 was an OK design and this was one of the couple of dozen parallels they had. Red Foil no Serial Number. Oh and it is the update set. ” -captkirk42
“ not a bad look. Glad to see a mariner on here. ” -parsley24
“ First, I haven't seen these in person but I like this image. I would like to see one in person sometime. Although I still hate the fact they made all these parallels. More importantly, I don't know this guy, but will offer up TONS of respect. Out of pro ball for five years, and then comes back and still gets to the show. Very impressive! ” -kents_stuff
“ Would have preferred that this was referred to as ruby red (similar to the emerald green) to differentiate between this and the Target red parallel. Other than that, I don't mind this design at all. Would love to know what Wilhelmsen did for those 5 years out of baseball. ” -rmitchell6700
“ As much as I get annoyed with so many parallel's, I must admit I get excited to pull one and some of the look cool. This is one of those. ” -muskie027
“ The Bartender! He was literally a bartender before he joined the Mariners. Great guy overall and he was fun on the Mariners. Good looking card too. ” -ketchupman36
“ I like the design and the coloring, looks like the name and Topps logo might get lost but that might just be the scan. The problem is it being a parallel. The Topps base sets for years were very boring to me but the parallels were at times really good. The problem I have is why not make the parallels the main set and get rid of the dozens of parallel cards. ” -davidhandberry
