Year: 2010-11

Set: O-Pee-Chee - Retro (Rate)

Card: #369 Mikko Koivu

“ Mr. Wild himself!! ” -Tylergallo

“ I really like the use of the NHL shield as a picture frame. Like the use of team colors as well. Using the team logo and writing the team name is redundant. Player's name is too small, like it was an afterthought. Way too much wasted space on the back. They could fade the O-Pee-Chee logo and overlay a player bio or more stats. ” -AirPete

“ Cool retro parallel. I like how the image window is the shape of the NHL logo. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ This card is WILD ” -switzr1

“ Love these retro OPC cards. I'm old fashioned so I prefer "raw" cardboard cards over the newer pristine white card stock cards. ” -captkirk42

“ SCAN by lowen51 ” -Kirbythedodger

“ I like the UD O Pee Chee cards, the retro cards a little hit and miss. This one is mediocre. Mikko is a really good player, which is always nice to see on RCOTD. ” -muskie027

It doesn't matter what sport, I do not like this design at all! Even a true vintage card would be a hard PASS from me.

The O-Pee-Chee retro designs in the modern sets are generally all new but similar to what may have been made back in the 1970s, with two exceptions- 2008-09 is a direct copy (homage) of 1979-80, and 2016-17 is very clearly modeled on the 1971-72 set, yet different enough to be it's own design.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.

Somebody else should go rate the set. I think a set needs 3 votes to show up on the "Top Sets" list.  Could be 5 though.  This set has 2.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff.  Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Pretty nice card overall though I do remember his brother a little bit better back in the day.
