Year: 1998

Set: Studio - Studio Proofs Silver (Rate)

Card: #215 Jeff Bagwell

“ I'm a big fan of checklists. Wish they still existed beyond just two sets. (UD's hockey flagship and OPC). I like them better when both sides are checklist but at this point I'd take anything I could get. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Very nice insert from an era when we didn't get parallel-ized like today. Would have hit 75 dingers with todays juicy balls. ” -baseballcardstoreca

“ Nice looking card front, wasted, because it has a checklist on the back. This is one of the best card fronts I have seen in a while, even with the whitish border. ” -davidhandberry

“ Studio made it 8 years. I thought the 1993 version was outstanding. ” -vanstryland

“ As a card design it is OK, but as a checklist BLAH. I'm a traditionalist for many things and this having a full picture on the front of a checklist stinks in my book. Of course if it is just for a small insert set like this looks to be I can let things slide some. ” -captkirk42

“ Nice looking card. The checklist on the back kind of ruins it though... ” -Jd_sports

“ Not a fan. I also wasn't too thrilled with these Astro uniforms. ” -muskie027

@davidhandberry - The border is actually silver foil.

The Silver Studio Proofs from 1998 look fantastic in-hand. I don't have this one, but I acquired a different one recently. As for this specific card, I really like it. The dual photos on the front are good as is the design and layout. Since it is a CL on the back, there's not much to be said about it. But I do like how they put the Astros logo on the back (twice) for this card.
