Year: 1989

Set: Topps Batman - Collector's Edition (Tiffany) (Rate)

Card: #192 Friends and Lovers

“ First trading cards were this set and I'm betting I'm not alone. ” -ShoTime

“ This set...and movie...are not that great, but integral to my card collecting life. Some of my earliest memories are of these cards. I know I have more somewhere in my storage unit, but I fear for their condition. The factory set, which this came from and I uploaded, is not actually in my collection...these cards belong to my brother, who got me started in the hobby and read me my first comic book at only five days old...a hobby I've never left, and contribute a great deal of my lexicon, love for science and reading towards. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I remember the 1989 Batman set and getting packs of them back then. I don't remember there being a "Complete Collector's Edition" though. The photos were pretty good and the type on the back was as well. But that bright yellow border, yuck! Maybe that's where the 1991 Fleer design came from?! I've just got to say this... Keaton is still my favorite movie Batman. ” -spazmatastic

“ I like the front border but the photo looks washed out. The back is great. I am a big fan of Batman, especially Michael Keaton's so this card is a plus for me but still can't bring myself to collect non sports cards. ” -davidhandberry

“ The best Batman movie ever made. ” -Brimose

“ Topps movie cards from the '80s....it doesn't get much better! ” -mkaz80

It's too bad this was on the first, would have been awesome if the day before as yesterday was my brother's birthday.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.

Would this qualify for coincidence list since it's so close to the Joker release?

These were OK but the "Batman Returns" Stadium Club was much better.

Kirk, are you feeling ok? The Stadium Club cards had foil, gloss and a picture on the back...you can't like them...maybe it's not the real Kirk but a clone! laugh
