Year: 1991

Set: TSR Advanced Dungeons & Dragons - Silver (Rate)

Card: #254 Wulfgar

“ I use to play this game when I was a kid. I never knew that they created cards for the game. Since I have been on the site I have learned something new every day. It is an interesting card despite being a parallel. ” -Brendan Barrick

“ I have some Dungeons and Dragons cards that I had a hard time figuring out how to document. I should locate them and scan them. I never played D&D and have no idea how it works, but it seems like something I could have gotten into had the opportunity presented itself. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Syndergaard pre-rookie card? ” -mkaz80

“ Wulfgar's logo makes it look like he plays for the Knights, but the back says he is a Warrior. Is this a team error? To add to the confusion, his jersey has a wolf on it. ” -muskie027

“ A Gaming card that should be left in the forgotten realms. ” -davidhandberry

“ Nice non sport set. ” -captkirk42

Cool looking card. I tried playing that game in the early 80's. It was too confusing.  cheeky

I loved playing D&D (actually Advanced D&D by the time I got into it) with my friends during high school and a few years afterwards. And YES, we did have women playing with us. It wasn't just a bunch of guys playing a paper and imagination game with some weird dice.

But I couldn't care less about the cards. They really had nothing to do with the game. The TSR cards weren't even really a game, just a gimmick to try to capitalize on the popularity of trading cards at the time. They basically created part of a character for you. If you knew nothing about the real Dungeons & Dragons game (or Advanced Dungeons & Dragons), HERE is a character on a card. Nobody in my circle ever used those cards and most DM's banned them. I did become a Dungeon Master during my time (DM in the late-90's). I didn't have to ban them b/c nobody had them! All characters in my games were created by the players, using the AD&D rule book for Characters. I have none of those cards, but I still have the rule books and a few notebooks full of characters and storylines!
