I had not seen this mentioned yet, but COMC will be having a Summer Sale from 1-5 August.  I received notice since i am a seller there as well as a buyer. A good time to get bargains, though i don't know if they will have any shipping discounts like they do during their Black Friday sale.

Just bumping this up now that the sitewide sale is on at COMC.

Public Service Announcement:

As a long time user of COMC, I have several items in my watch list, many of which go on sale from time to time. There is a spot on each card in your watch list to enter notes. I track the various prices in my notes. From what I have seen so far, the prices are "all over the place". Some are at their normal sale prices for when they go on sale. A couple are lower than the normal prices (never really seem to go on sale), and some are actually higher than they normally go on sale for.

Granted, this is a small sample size. But, as is the case with any purchases, buyer beware. Just because it's on sale doesn't necessarily mean it's a good deal.

Dan, where do you enter notes on the cards in your watch list? I have been using COMC for a few years, and have always wondered about this.

When you go to your watch list, under each card is a box, and on the right side of the box, there is a button that says "Save Notes". It will only save what was typed into the box next to it (you can't enter notes for all of them, click once and save all - in fact, you may lose what you typed in the other boxes by doing it that way).

2 days before the sale I checked my watch list and had 1 card over $50 and 105 cards under .80..  The day before the sale there was 10 cards over $50 and only 15 under .80.    Now there is 1 card over $50 and  135 cards under .80.  Only purchased 1 card so far. As far as my collecting goes I see very little deals for me.

I'm seeing the same thing as vroomed

I marked down all my stuff. Some are now for sale for less than it cost me to list them. 98% of them were under a dollar to begin with. Link in signature.

Wll pretty much everything on my watchlist went up in price. So much for a sale. 

I've found a few items, but for the most part struck out too.  I will say though this promotion seemed D.O.A. with almost no lead in and not much of an announcement for buyers either.  I've spent about 3 bucks so far, but I find really cheap cards so I've gotten about 7-10 cards so far.  Thought about adding more money to my account if I could find something that I couldn't pass up, but so far nothing.  I've seen it happen before but not this time on sellers raising their prices then putting them "on sale".  Not saying it isn't happening, but my watchlist has pretty much all the same prices as normal, and the sellers are running the same % off as they normally do.  The good news is maybe I can build up some cash and hope the Black Friday sale is better.

I just sold a card for 18 cents today. One for 15 cents yesterday. Maybe I should raise my prices too, lol.
