Does anyone have any good leads on good card traders/shops in the Indianapolis region? I'm starting to get back into the hobby and I still have a lot to catch up to and to post to my collection and such.

Well, I don't know Indianapolis, but welcome. I know a bunch of us throughout North America and beyond converge, many of us daily, right here to talk and trade cards. I trust you will find the subject of your search in time, but we'll all be ready here when you are.

Hey, OGdrewbone, welcome to the site! It's a wonderful community here and the trading is geat. Sometimes it comes faster than you can handle it! I think the best thing you can do is get your collection entered here. Even if it's starting with certain range of years, you're going to see the benefits. Once you get a portion of your trade/sale list and some wants put together, the trading fun begins.
I live in the Indy area. There's really only one place as far as card shops and that is the Indy Card Exchange. These guys run an awesome shop. They are very active on Facebook and Twitter, so give them a follow there. They do alot of get togethers and trade nights. Unfortunately I can't get there too often, but try to get there a few times a year. If you are on the north side, there is a card show every month at the American Legion in Fishers. I've never been, but I've heard good things. I hope to make it over for a show some Saturday. You can find info on it here.
There are a couple of other card shops in the metro area, neither of which I'm familiar with. There's Bruno's Shoebox in Noblesville. This one is relatively new and was opened by Conrad Brunner, local sports media personality. There's also Four Sharp Corners in Greenfield, IN. Hopefully one of these 3 shops is relatively close to you.
Hope this helps and again, welcome to the site. Hope we can hookup on a trade at some point.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Thanks for the reminder, Chuck!
I will say, from that link that the Collector's Den is one of those mall memorabilia shops. It's typically overpriced and usually only carries the recent releases. I do not know much about the others listed besides Indy Card Exhange. They are the goto among collectors here in Indy metro.

From the outside, the FSC in Greenfield is tiny. Perhaps it's the same guy who had a shop on the other side of 40, on the street just east of the courthouse, many years ago.
Regardless, I would call ahead before visiting. Based on size, it might not be staffed on weekends if there's a local/regional show.

I'll have to check out Indy Card Exchange next time I'm on the north side (which isn't often). Hadn't heard of it. Good info!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Thank y'all for the responces I've been to both Collector's Den and Indy Card Exchange, and let me tell you there's a hell of a difference. ICE is way more down to earth, and really embraced all levels of collectors. Whereas CD seemed a little disconnected to novice and casual collectors, focussing on the more expensive and flashy kind of items. I'll have to take a trip to FSC and Bruno's sometime soon, as well as the Fishers monthly meetup, maybe I'll see y'all there.
Thank y'all for the introduction, and be sure to watch out for my collection updates

If you have the time, there are some good card shows in Cincinnati (a little over 100 miles from Indy), especially the one at Moeller High School. Try https://www.cincycardshows.com/ or try the card show link at the bottom of the page here.

A little late here but if your still looking. 4 sharp corners in greenfield has great quarter bins and all kinds of boxes and binders to go through with 80-90's stuff at real reasonable. Scored a Seaver auto out of the quarter bin. Has plenty of old wax and new wax as well. K&L in greenwood has good prices on new packs and boxes. There's a decent spot in the antique mall in Westfield. The Doug Out on the west side is pretty much a waste of time unless you want Pokémon or Magic. Antique mall in Edinburgh has a couple booths. There's another one on S Madison Ave called the Fan Cave. They just had a signing with a colts guy. There's one in Columbus that's open a few days a week (prices kinda high). Card shows regularly at Beech Grove La Quinta and out in Plainfield, and Noblesville. That's the other main places I can think of right now I hit besides ICE.
