I like the semi rigid holders.  They do not require penny sleeves or team bags . This makes it easier to store the card and cheaper as well. The downside is to notbend your cardwhen placing it in the semi rigid holder.  Which do you prefer and why?

Semis are great for PWE trades (less chance for an issue at the sorting machine) but I've never really used them for bulk storage. I have considered using them more actually as I think they're slightly easier to "flip through" and I don't mand-handle my cards a ton, I'm guessing they're a bit lighter? Although you can probably fit more cards/box so maybe its a wash? I wouldn't mind hearing other's experience as well

Toploaders only. The semi-rigid's provide no more protection than a penny sleeve does. They also require larger card boxes for storage. I mostly store my cards in 9-card pages in binders, but my high-value cards go in a penny sleeve/toploader/team bag if they aren't in a hard case.

I sell mfrb's of toploaders for shipping cost if that gives an indication of my leaning.

I'm with spaz - toploaders only. I dread when cards show up in the mail in the semi-rigids. The bulk of the damaged cards I've received have shown up in those things. I don't even try to pull cards out of them. I use a pair of scissors and cut off the side to remove the card. The semi-rigid is then deposited in the trash.

After bending a card that I purchased in a "card-saver" last month, I'm now going to do exactly as Big Ray does and cut them out. I probably won't toss the empty ones but use the clear plastic for windows in some scale modeling projects. But if they have scratches, out they go. 

While that may not sound like much, please remember that I do not throw anything away. I still have all the cards that got destroyed in the flood of February 2015, and I even have a collection of empty insulin pen caps.

Top loaders for my Main Collection fer sure.  The semi-rigid thingees are immediately discarded if they enter my domain.  I also have a fair number of binders which I am still figuring out what to do with, keep or convert to toploaders for keepers.

Toploaders only for me, I utterly despise the semi rigid card savers. Case in point - I bought a Topps on-demand card I had missed from a dealer who sent it in a semi rigid. I don't know if it was the loader or the printing method Topps uses for their online cards, but when I tried to remove the card by cutting the sides off first, a huge portion of the card face remained stuck to the plastic, and destroyed the card. Even if I had to use one for a grading submission, I sure as hell wouldn't skip the penny sleeve!
