I had a pretty nice score over the weekend. I picked up several boxes of cards at a garage sale for a pretty nice price. I'll be spending some time logging what I want to keep in my collection and logging some stuff in for sale/trade that I am not interested in keeping at this time. If you are interested don't worry about matching to my want list, just send me a message and I can look at your for sale/trade list to see if you have somethiung available I might want more. Selling vs. trading is fine too. At this point I have pulled out 68 serial numbered cards. The first thing I would like to sell or trade is a lot of 1993 Topps Gold Baseball Cards. I have logged them in here and I believe there are 113 cards with a TCDB value of $47.50 so that must be worth at least $5!!!
I would like to try to move these as a lot first but if I can't find success I will consider moving it in pieces. Take a look at my for sale/trade list for the details of who are in the lot. There are several bigger names in the lot.
Also feel free to follow this as I dig through it and add some more items available. This is not a monster haul but a few thousand cards but lots of neat stuff.

Picking up another small collection of about 1500 cards in 15 minutes. Received a few pics and said I would buy it based on that. He wasn't asking much so low risk. Wish me luck!

I looked through about half the cards and quite a few hall of famers and inserts. I actually bought it based on the few cards in plastic pages. The first page has 6 cards of 1993 Donruss the elite series: Gary Sheffield, Darren Daulton, Larry Walker,Barry Larkin and Juan Gonzalez and Andy Van Slyke. There is a numbered Mo Vaughn lumberjacks from 1995 Donruss. There is an oversized Michael Jordan upper deck from 1995. I would guess those may be the best but I would guess there are more like 2500 more cards. Lots of fun for $20.

The Elite cards alone make up for the 20. Anything after that is a bonus. Jealous I am...

Weird too that there were 3 older cards in the box so far. A 1974 O.J. Simpson, a 1969 Topps Bill Melton and a 1959 del ennis.

I find that happens a lot when I buy lots at garage sales or online. It’s like they collected during the junk wax boom and maybe a parent or older brother had a handful of vintage they acquired.

BSwagger I always wondered about guys like you that do this because I keep telling myself I should stop and check them out while I'm tooling around my neighborhood. How often do you stop at garage sales a week? How many sales actually have cards? % wise? How many times do you pull the trigger? Thanks.

Always looking for Blackhawk hockey, Notre Dame Football, White Sox and Bears Stuff. I have a plaque in my card room that says, "I could have been a millionaire but my mom threw out my baseball cards". How apropos!!! Collecting Chicago Blackhawks Hockey, Doug Wilson Hockey, Chicago Bears Older, Notre Dame Football in their college jerseys and Chicago White Sox.

I am a total hobbyist. I know there are some on here and my facebook groups that do this as a business or hobby/business. I really don't have a lot of garage sale success but I think mainly because I work M-F and probably miss out on most of them. In our very rural area they usually have community garage sales so if I hit on one I usually try to make it back there the next year. I have a little more success through facebook. I am a member of all the sale sites that I know of in my area and watch for cards. In the purchase last night that is really what happened. Someone had posted they were looking for cards and a couple people replied. I reached out to the one guy who wanted to sell. He was near by. He sent me a few pictures and said what he wanted and I said I would take it.

I search for cards at yardsales.net and go to them when they have cards. I usually see 1 a month or so in my area, which is not near a mlb city
