Hi,
Has anyone had any experience with this dealer? Located in Tomball, Texas. Has sold lots of cards (over 200,000) with very good feedback.
I'm looking at purchasing a vintage card for over $100 that isn't graded. Always a little nervous about authenticity but the seller seems to be on the up and up. I thought I'd ask the community if anyone else had purchased cards from him.
Thanks!

I've purchased a couple of nice vintage via both ebay and their website. You can find decent deals on ungraded cards, but you have to look hard.

I have bought from them several times, and never had an issue. When it comes to buying vintage cards, I actually look for that seller first.

You're right to be a little wary with any vintage ungraded purchase, no matter the seller, but Batters Box seems to be pretty trustworthy. I've purchased a few low-end cards from them over the years without issue. Seems like they're pretty accurate and forthcoming when listing card condition and posting photos.
Couldn't hurt to contact them and ask if they have any sort of inspection process for possible counterfeits when they obtain vintage cards.

I have purchased many vintage card from them over the years, both through their website and ebay. The cards are acurately graded and on most listings they show both a front and back scan. I would not hesitate to purchase from them.

I just purchased a raw 1968 Topps Nolan Ryan RC from the Battersbox this past week - they had it listed as VG, and I was very pleased when it came, looks more like an EX with good centering. They have a return policy also, I won't hesitate to purchase from them again.

Thanks to everyone that replied to my question. I have sent them an offer, even though it wasn't listed as "Or Best Offer".
Yes, I'm one of those annoying persons that always asks for a lower (usually 5-10%) price. In my defense, I don't ask if there's something in the listing that says they don't want or accept offers. You know, that would be a good Forum Post question. Since I don't sell on eBay, I don't know if the sellers find that annoying or not. I will say that my offers are accepted about 60-65% of the time and countered about 30% of the time.
Thanks again Guys! I'll let you know if I get the card.

I agee with the above positive comments....they would be a dealer I trust, either on their own site, or on ebay for 'higher value' cards.
I would not hesitate to buy from again
thumbs up from this guy!!

Ok, I promised an update. I purchased a 57 Koufax that was listed at $132. I offered a lower price ($120) and was informed, within minutes, that the "Buy It Now" prices were priced as low as they would accept. My reply:
Thank you for your very prompt response. I completely understand.
(I'm one of those annoying persons that's always asking for a better deal.)
I'm very interested, but had set a $125 limit for myself. I know it's only an additional $7 but....
FYI: I'm a long time member of Trading Card Database. Since the (vintage) card isn't graded and I hadn't bought from you before I was a little concerned about authenticity. I asked the site community if anyone had done business with your "store"? before. Several members replied that I could buy with confidence and had nice comments about your business. Congratulations! it was very good to know.
About 30 minutes later I received an offer to buy the card for $125. Thanks again for the helpful information.
Sidenote: This brings me 2 cards from completing the 57 Topps set. #1 - Ted Williams and #24 Bill Mazeroski RC to go.

Some Ebay sellers will do usually do two things. Ignore your offer and raise the price. Or ignore your offer and block you from bidding on any of their auctions.
