Set: Choice Tri-City ValleyCats (Rate)

Card: #02 Richard Gonzalez

“ The baseball is as big as his head! ” -switzr1

“ I am a huge fan of MiLB cards. However, copying the design of an old Topps set is not cool. At least the back is unique and well-done. ” -vrooomed

“ Fooled me for the first split-second I thought it was some custom jobber. Nice Minor League card. Front Love the classic '74 style vintage. Don't like the #11 (Jersey number?) on front should be on back. Back OK not great, but card number needs to be more clearly identified. ” -captkirk42

“ Minor league cards are cool, period! ” -carthage44

“ Reminds me a little of 1974 Topps. ” -CluelessJoe

“ This looks like it was made by a high schooler in graphic design class. I will admit, the jersey number is a nice addition to the '74 format. Lastly, should Richard be concerned about the beach ball size ball sitting on his left shoulder? ” -flcardtrader

“ Nice. Kind of reminiscence of I think '74 Topps...or around there. I like it! ” -RoyalChief

How about some hockey cards.  No Canucks in the playoffs, but there has gotta be some US fans !

I also thought this was a custom card at first.  I'm not really a fan of it, but usually like minor league sets.

Since it's all random and the bulk of cards is basball, the majority of cards will be baseball.    I am a hockey fan and can you tell me what is going wrong up there in Canada?   It is an embarrassment not to have one Canadian team in the playoff.    Two teams from Florida??/

We have Canadian friends visiting for a few days and I'm told the Canadian teams cannot draw the quality players due to the taxes up there!?  Their lucrative contracts are apparently much more lucrative down in the States...after tax!  Any others have thoughts about that, yea or nay?

They said the same about the Expos and Blue Jays in baseball   but I think that is simply the wrong sport in the wrong country.

If I had grown up in Russia, I would rather live in Miami than in Calgary.  I think Hurricanes and Coyotes are the only teams from southern cities to miss the playoffs this year.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff.  Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

If you are gonna do a throwback, do a throwback. This is some monster child of elements from different eras. I like the homage to the '74 design, but the rest, meh, it's some late 90's-early 00's design.

Richard, flat brim, no.

The photography is minor league as well..
